Groomer Gives Stray Dog Haircut And Finds Beauty Under Years Of Matted Fur

August 11th, 2020

It was one of those nights where this lady didn’t mind the overtime hours. Kari Falla is a dog groomer based in Florida with a heart of gold. She just happened to see a Facebook post of a dog found on the side of the road. It was a call for help. The person who posted the photo asked for someone to care for the dog and clean him up just for one night.

It was late but Kari volunteered.

The dog arrived at her shop around midnight and Kari got to work. The neglected dog looked so bad with its hair all over the place making him look like a wet mop. A woman named Mary Dixon was responsible for the posts and her updates on Facebook were beginning to sound desperate.

BGE Grooming took the dog in.

Kari says a normal grooming would take about an hour and a half but for this pooch, it took her three. We’re talking years of matted fur. This poor pooch spent all those years alone in the streets just trying to get by. It’s a wonder someone found him and had the heart to help.

The dog was deaf and blind.

But dogs are pretty special creatures. When Kari finished her work, the dog began to wag his tail obviously happy to be rid of his dirty carpet and just really thankful for Kari’s efforts. And look at that face!

Kari named him Lucky. It’s a miracle this dog survived all those years in the streets being deaf and blind.

Lucky is now living with a foster family. Authorities went on the hunt for his original owners and whether they are found or not, doggy justice will fall on them. How could anyone not want Lucky?

It’s actually a felony to abandon pets but investigations can take really long. Thank the wonderful people who go out of their way to rescue and take care of abandoned animals in the streets. There are shelters and organizations dedicated to caring for neglected animals. If you find one near you, go for a visit. You’ll have a change of heart.

This dog loves and is loved again.

A woman named Michelle left a great comment saying,

“The entire grooming community constantly helps with rescues, fundraisers and with animals in just as poor condition. What she did was wonderful! Just remember you don’t usually get to see the other heroes who choose to remain behind the scenes.”

That’s certainly the case with Kari. Where most people would be getting ready for bed, she rose to the occasion even though it was really late. All because she wanted to help poor Lucky. What an amazing woman.

She must have finished around three in the morning but it must have been all worth it. Kari made a new friend too!

For Lucky, he must have felt like hope was gone but all was not lost. He now has a new life ahead of him and all because of wonderful women like Mary and Kari who went out of their way to help a stranger in need. Who knew that underneath all that dirty matted fur was a handsome boy?
