Can you say hitching a free ride? This lady happened to be out for a drive when she got a rather furry, four-legged passenger who was definitely not booking her as an Uber.
Michelle Logan’s drive had her come across a pair of Labradors out and about near some residences. One Black Lab and one Yellow Lab, and not very many other residences.
Michelle was on her way to work when this was taking place. The day was a rainy one, and naturally it’d be important to keep her wipers in tip-top condition.
Away ran the yellow Lab, though the Black Lab was a bit more willing to approach her. She mentions that it seemed particularly happy, wagging its tail and approaching her with clearly friendly intentions.
Maybe too friendly, as we’re about to see from her TikTok that went viral.
After a bit of “Hi doggy!” and some typical show of affection that we all do when a dog approaches us, the dog warmed up to her a lot more than she was expecting. It made this pretty clear when it hopped into her car.
“Okay, so I pulled over to fix my window wiper and a dog hopped in my car. I’m not mad at it, but I kinda have to go to work. So, doggy, let’s find out where you live!” – Michelle says to the dog in the video
Okay, no big deal. She could just get it to leave, right?
I don’t know if you’ve ever had to remove a large-ish dog from the front seat of your car, but I don’t think it’d be easy. Especially since this seems like a rather – ahem, chunky Labrador.

Michelle was out for roughly half an hour, thinking of some way she could get this dog to return to wherever it lives. The dog, on the other hand, was pretty happy to stay in her car. Even looking at her a couple of times as if to say, “So are you gonna drive or what?”.
She had to go to work, and that’s not doable with a stranger’s Labrador sharing a ride with her.
Then, an answer. The Yellow Lab from earlier was visible from where she was standing. It was up in a house nearby, and Michelle rightfully assumed that the hitchhiking Black Lab in her front seat belonged to the same household.
She drove up to the house, with the doggy passenger next to her.
Then she opened the door, and out the black Lab went, off into the same house as his friend. Seems like that was where he lived. Good to know! I hope he at least rated her five stars.
Though this wasn’t the last that Michelle and this Labrador would see of each other. On the next day, Michelle had an itching feeling to have to visit the place again (feeling obligated, almost).
Her plan was to write a letter, informing the homeowner what had happened the day before with their dog.
But that turned out to not be necessary since the homeowner was home that day. Michelle laid it out straight to him, telling him the short, 30-minute adventure she shared with their dog. Turns out, the dog’s name was Cole, and he belonged to the homeowner’s son (whose residence was right nearby on the same patch of land).
“Your dog is famous now” – she told them.
And in the last thing she expected when she first met Cole, she was introduced to the family. The homeowner, his son, the son’s girlfriend, and of course, Cole.
They found Cole’s little misadventures with Michelle far too adorable, and even more so his viral fame thanks to her TikTok.
Now, Michelle and Cole’s family regularly keep in touch, and they never forget to send her pictures of Cole from time to time. What a doggo Cole is, and what a happy ending this turned out to be!
