Rooster runs to bus stop every day to meet his favorite girl
"Frog" is not your typical rooster. He likes snacking on tomatoes, hearing the rev of the family's Mustang, and his best friend is a teenage girl.

We don’t normally think of roosters as companion animals, but one friendly fowl is proving us all wrong.

The story begins in early 2017 when the Burns family of Atlanta, Texas adopted a hatchling that they quickly realized was a bit odd. His feathery feet and unique walk earned him the name “Frog.”

But it was his demeanor that would stand out the most.

According to his website, Frog enjoys tomatoes, the family’s Mustang (the car), and having his photo taken!

Most puzzling, however, was that Frog didn’t really like hanging out with chickens – he wanted to be around people.

And his favorite person was the Burns’ 13-year-old daughter Savannah.

For her part, Savannah was happy to hang out with Frog, and since he was just a small chicken when the family got him, she’d often carry him around on her shoulder during her chores.

From there, the pair became inseparable.

Frog the rooster first came to the Internet’s attention in 2018 with a sweet story about how he would excitedly run to meet Savannah at the bus stop after school.

“He hears the bus stop a few houses down on the county road,” Burns told The Dodo. “And then he’s running down to the end of the driveway before it gets there. Every day.”

The video of the rooster running to meet the Burns siblings at the school bus has been viewed 21 MILLION times in 2 years!

(The school bus driver is very careful to watch out for the creature each day.)

The sweet little guy would even see her off in the mornings. He just always wanted to be around Savannah.

“He will stay with her at the end of the driveway until she gets on the bus,” Burns explained. “He will then just come back and do his adventures with us and our daily routines until it’s time to meet her when she gets home.”

If Savannah doesn’t get off the bus, he’ll march right up in to see what’s going on!

And while Frog is no typical rooster, Savannah is no typical teenager – in a good way.

“She’s what I call an animal whisperer,” Burns said. “She can walk up to anything, and it’s just instant — all animals are attracted to her.”

But Savannah isn’t the only interspecies friendship Frog has.

When the Burns family brought home a scared dog that they named Caspar, Frog took him under his wing. Caspar had been abandoned in a restaurant parking lot and was deeply afraid of storms, so Frog became his friend and would comfort him during those stressful times.

The two even play together!

Of course, not every human who encounters Frog is immediately sure he’s friendly – some people are quite afraid of him since your average rooster can be pretty aggressive.

But they soon learn that Frog is NOT your average rooster.

Even two years later, Frog’s various social media accounts (you can find him on Facebook and Instagram) show that he and Savannah are still besties.

“I don’t know what they’d do without each other, truthfully,” Burns said. “He’s a very big member of our family — or a very small member of our family.”

Because Frog and Savannah received so much attention from their sweet story in 2018, they’ve done their best to use it for good by helping out with fundraisers in the area.

And they’re always happy to be a source of good news for those who’d like a bright spot in their day.

Every day is a new adventure with Frog, you never know what he has up his little feather sleeves!!
