To top it off, their “kisses” are just too adorable.

Parakeets are one of the most beautiful types of birds, ranging in color from yellow to blue, to green. However, what’s even more fascinating is how smart they are.

Parakeets have brains that are very large when compared to the size of their bodies.

They can quickly learn things that many other species of birds aren’t able to. For example, human words.

Just like many other types of parrots, parakeets can talk.

If they hear words or phrases repeated enough times, they will start to repeat them back as well in their own goofy voices. However, it turns out, it’s not just humans that parakeets like to chat with. They can also speak with each other too.

A recent viral video on YouTube showed two parakeet brothers casually speaking English back and forth.

They were having a normal conversation. If we couldn’t see the video and only had the audio to listen to, we would have thought it was just two people, or perhaps two young children talking because of their high-pitched voices. However, it was actually the two tiny parakeets.

“Fabio and Gabriel are Indian ring-neck bird brothers who have a truly amazing bond,” the video description reads.

The two birds have spent their wholes lives together and have grown very close to each other over the years.

They’ve also had a lot of time to talk. It’s a great way for them to pass the time. Now, they often have full-on conversations with each other as the people in the home watch on in amazement.

The owners even recorded one of Fabio and Gabriel’s recent chats and it’s something you have to see for yourself.

The birds’ funny behavior as they work to perfect their speaking ability is absolutely adorable to witness.

“What are you doing?” Fabio asks his brother.

Gabriel chirps a response back.

However, he figures it’s better to just show his enthusiasm with his actions instead of words.

He runs up and gives Fabio a smooch on the cheek.

It causes Fabio to once again ask Gabriel what he is doing. And once again, Gabriel gives him another kiss.

It’s an adorable display of brotherly love.

Sure, the two birds don’t always get along. They spend an awful lot of time hanging out in the same cage and it gets kind of crowded in there occasionally. However, at the end of the day, they are still family.

“They can fight like any siblings do but they love to say each other’s name, give kisses, and ask how/what they are doing,” the video description explains.

Although Fabio and Gabriel’s conversations are limited to just a few subjects at the moment, there is a lot of room for improvement.

Don’t let their size fool you.

Parakeets are considered even smarter than some of the bigger parrot species such as African Greys.

Parakeets have the ability to memorize thousands of words.

However, what’s even more impressive is their ability to connect those words into real phrases. They are a great companion species. It’s hard to feel alone or sad when a cute parakeet is speaking to you in English and trying to get your attention.

Although, you’ll have to listen closely to understand what they are saying. The untrained ear might just mistake their high-pitched tones for a lovely bird song. However, it’s so much more than that.
