Given that we’ve taken it upon ourselves as the human species to breed cats and dogs to co-habitate, it’s a jolly good thing that they can sometimes make great friends. Obviously dogs and cats don’t always get along, but when they do, they can sometimes create bonds that rival even those of humans.

How annoying is it when your pets are better friends with each other than with you!

In the home of one particularly animal-friendly farm owner, one cat has found not one, but two canine companions.

Two camels named Baby and Nessie, as well as myriad other furry friends, including rescues inhabit this farm (hopefully soon to be an education-focussed petting zoo). But those animals aside, there’s a highly pressing matter which demands our attention right now:

This adorable kitten named Pancake:

This particular video has captured the hearts of hoards.

With over 1.5 Million views, this video depicts the early stages of Pancake meeting these two protective doggos. They watch over Pancake who as of this time, has his own barking bodyguards. Just look at that little guy lounging around like Cleopatra!

They may simply laze around, but they do not leave this kitten’s side!

While many cats would be way more nervous sitting around these comparatively massive dogs, that is not the case for Pancake who seems right at home with them by his side. Heck, I would feel safer with them around too! Where do I get friends like these?

They treat him with a gentle curiosity, quietly interested in this kitten.

And maybe the feeling is mutual…This kitty has an interest in its doberman buddy as much as it has in him. These dogs seem to genuinely feel affection for Pancake, and want to take care of him.

And when the doberman tries to connect with this kitten, it does so ever so gently.

While this sort of behavior is not unusual, it still warms the cockles of your soul all the same. A few commenters have noticed this too:

“Nice! I’ve seen this phenomenon of large dogs “adopting” little kittens since they (the kitttens) seem to elicit such nurturing behavior by their very nature from bigger creatures.”- Robert Heber

And while this adorable little kitten has claws, he also has a sweet side.

And given that he’s so comfortable snuggling with a giant doberman and German shepherd, he’s setting up a lifelong friendship.

Now, a few years later, Pancake is now more like a stack of pancakes…

…but the proof is in the pudding, and even now, this cat is as close to his doggy pals as ever.

And because of Pancake’s unique living situation, he doesn’t just get to make friends with dogs.

Sometimes Pancake can hang out with lambs, and any other animals which may enter this menagerie of a home. Pancake seems to maintain a curiosity with new friends around him, as he once did with his new dog friends back in the day when he was just a wee kitten.
