For most people, the onset of the global pandemic had one, and only one upside. Among the panic, the paranoia, the sheer and utter boredom, the only respite the average person had was a little Netflix documentary series by the name of “Tiger King”. The perfect way to escape cold hard reality was the wacky story of eccentric big cat zoo owner “Joe Exotic” and the bizarre life he leads.
It really is a job only a crazy person could do!
One video of just how dangerous big cats can be around their keepers is making viewers grip their chairs in fear.
This big cat handler is showing off his pride and joy (pun intended), to the internet. He clearly has a strong relationship with all of these cats. The thing with big cats however, is that they are incredibly dangerous. This seams obvious, but when they begin to act like great big teddy bears, it can be all too easy to to forget that fact.
The handler casually regards his beasts.
“You can see the difference in her vibe”, he says as he lovingly pats one lioness’s belly. What he maybe doesn’t know is that he had better turn his attention not to the cats in front of him…
…but he should be watching the cats behind him.
A predator creeps…
In the top left corner of the shot, we can see a leopard just taking a stroll. The thing is, this leopard may have something else on his mind. Probably lunch!
Then…the pounce…
Having decided to take this handler for his afternoon tea, the leopard takes his opportunity to strike. What he doesn’t expect however, is that he has a guardian angel…and it’s a tiger. When the leopard starts charging toward this unsuspecting keeper, an alert and protective tiger leaps in to his rescue.
But the leopard breaks through his defenses!
It seems that despite the tiger’s quick action, Mr. Leopard has broken through and leaps toward his human caretaker. Now, he gains quickly on the vulnerable human. Could this be the day that this keeper gets taken down by one of his own big cat buddies?
At the last second, the tiger takes the leopard down.
It’s quickly revealed that the leopard was bounding toward the human for a bit of fun and games. Or…maybe not! It’s possible that he’s just acting that way since he got caught! Either way, so long as this tiger is around, any human should be safe around these cats.
How sharp are those claws?
Still in play mode, the leopard casually hooks a claw through the keepers shorts. Now, perhaps Mr. Leopard was just pretending to stalk him, but those claws are very sharp, and very real!
