Timelapse video shows two golden retriever puppies growing up
Two sweet Golden Retrievers do a lot of growing up in a few months, but it does nothing to dampen their puppy-like enthusiasm for dinnertime.

Chris Cardinal is the owner of the Cheese Pups – Colby and Bleu, two of the cutest Golden Retrievers you’ll ever see.

And they have quite the media empire, from a YouTube channel to a growing Instagram page.

The boys were both born on July 23, 2014, which means they’re about to turn six! But Cardinal remembers them as little puppies.

And it turns out so does the rest of the Internet thanks to a viral video he uploaded in 2015 in which he showed off the growth of his two furry boys over the span of a few months.

But this is no cheesy montage. He filmed the two dogs as they burst out from around the corner at dinner time.

Now, before we get to that, you might also remember Colby and Bleu from when they went viral for a whole different reason involving their parent’s kiddo, Chloe.

These are the same two dogs that let baby Chloe escape her crib by knocking over a stuffed hippo to create a route to freedom. Her mom couldn’t believe it when she saw the baby in the hallway.

Getting back to the growing boys, our first peek at them is their 11-month run for food.

And let’s just say things didn’t go great thanks to that slippery floor. Skidding around the corner took out one puppy.

Of course, being a puppy means you get right back up and head for the food bowl. No harm done.

Two weeks later and no one is hitting the deck anymore – so that’s progress!

There’s still some comedic skidding, but both dogs manage to make it around the corner on all four paws (even if those do go flying in different directions for a moment).

Now, at 16 weeks, they’re getting big and growing into those paws.

There are always some setbacks and growing pains.

And since they’re a bit bigger, skidding around that corner isn’t quite as easy as it was three weeks earlier. It turns out there might always be a 50/50 chance of a skid-and-fall.

At 18 weeks, they know the corner is there and the trouble it can cause.

You see them preparing for the inevitable slide a lot earlier, which helps!

At the 20 week mark, they’re really learning – and look how big they’re getting!

It’s nice to see their age hasn’t dampened their enthusiasm for dinner at all.

By the time they’re 6 months old, they run to dinner with only a faint memory of the humiliation they suffered at the hands of that sharp turn.

They’re so dignified, so careful.

Nah.

And humans know exactly what happens when you start to get too confident.

You lull yourself into a false sense of security when it comes to your talents and mess up all your progress. It’s psychological, but before you finally master something, you take two steps back.

And as you can see, one of them splatters onto the floor when taking the turn in week 29.

Everyone is fine, of course.

What’s a little humiliation before dinner?

As long as there’s food in the end, it doesn’t matter much to the dogs.

By the time we’re done, we’ve seen 46 weeks of puppy mayhem and they’re really no longer puppies anymore. But are they stately zen masters of dinner?

You probably have a good guess, but be sure to scroll down below and find out.
