We’ve all known friendly dogs. Or at least I hope you’ve had the pleasure.
But Louboutina the Golden Retriever isn’t just a friendly dog.
She’s the friendliest dog. She loves going around and giving people hugs and handshakes.

“She’s just a love bug,” Louboutina’s owner Cesar Fernandez-Chavez told TODAY. “She loves people and she likes to please people.”
To the point where it’s kind of hard to go on walks with her.
“It’s just not a regular walk,” Louboutina’s owner Fernandez-Chavez told The Dodo. “It’s a walk with hugging. So we don’t get to go too far.”

Fernandez-Chavez got Louboutina when she was a puppy.
She was a gift from a friend.
Fernandez-Chavez says that Louboutina started standing on her hind legs to give handshakes when she was a little over 2-years-old.

“We were walking and she stopped and started shaking [my hand] and she put a lot of strength on the grip and I held her paw and then suddenly she sat up,” Fernandez-Chavez told TODAY. “I was like, OK, this is weird, but I let her do that and she was there for a good two minutes before she went down.”

This all happened to occur right after her dad got out of a long-term relationship.
“I remember joking with my friends, ‘At least I have someone to hold hands with during Valentine’s,'” Fernandez-Chavez said. “From then on, every walk, she wanted to hold hands,” Fernandez-Chavez says. “She would just sit up and cross her paw over the other, and look around like a lady. People passing by were like, ‘Oh my god, she’s so cute.'”

It started with just shaking hands. But Louboutina wanted to come in for the real thing and get a hug.
So, hugs followed a few years after that.
“Instead of asking me to do the holding hands thing, she just sat up, very close to my legs, and she’d wrap her legs around my knees,” Fernandez-Chavez says. “I thought, ‘This is weird. What’s going on?’ But I let her do it.”

Dad says that she gets a good grip. So, he has to make sure that he’s well-balanced, so he doesn’t fall over.
And Louboutina wants to spread her love to everyone. Not just her dad.
“We’d run into neighbors that she knew, and instead of just leaning on them, she started hugging them, and then random people who would come to us,” Fernandez-Chavez explained.

But not everyone can get a hug from Louboutina.
“Sometimes people run up and ask for a hug, but I tell them, ‘I don’t think it’s going to happen,’ because she has to bond with that person first,” he said. “But when she sits next to someone, then I say, ‘You’re probably going to get a hug.'”
It obviously didn’t take long for Louboutina to become an internet sensation.
“Pictures started coming up on the internet,” Fernandez-Chavez said.
