Magic is an incredible thing.
Whether you believe that it’s real or not, a good magician will instill a sense of wonder and bewilderment in the people he or she performs for.
And believe it or not, a good magician can even do this for dogs.
Magician John Stessel has proved this to be true.
He decided he would make a visit to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Long Island, New York and put on a show for their pups.
The shelter’s director, Rob Bliss, organized a private magic show in partnership with TBS for his dogs as a treat for the holiday season.
Stessel and Bliss thought it would be a great way to showcase the dog’s personalities by their reactions which could be a draw for families looking to adopt.
A video was taken of the dog’s reactions and it is absolutely precious.
“To help get our animal shelter dogs adopted TBS brought them the magic of the holidays to show you how full of life they are,” the video explains.
And this video does exactly that!
“The reaction from the dogs was just amazing,” Stessel said. “They were just so cute. It was really special.”
Each of the dogs have different reactions when Stessel makes some doggie treats disappear.
Some of their eyes completely pop out of their head, some look really confused, and some just spin around in circles desperately searching for it.
Either way, they were all pretty hysterical!
The dogs were then given lots of treats and lots of love when the show was over.
“I’ve always loved the idea of doing magic with dogs,” Stessel told The Dodo. “Performing for them was nothing short of incredible.”
People on the internet fell in love with these adorable pups and Stessel’s magic.
“What an awesome playful gift for these fur babies!! They’re so smart and playful souls. I’m sure he didn’t leave them disappointed (or vice versa). Love,” said one Facebooker.
“Every shelter should do this! There are a few I would take if they weren’t so far away!” said another.
Hopefully, the dog’s reactions to Stessel’s show will create some magic of their own.
The kind of magic that will help make a forever family appear out of thin air and into their lives.
“They just wanted to be loved,” Stessel said. “Each one of them would be perfect to find their own forever home.”
