Do you ever wonder what your pets do when you’re away? When you come home, you might see they’ve chewed something up or they ate something they weren’t supposed to. But for the most part, it’s a big mystery how they spend their day.
But some owners need answers. Maybe their pet is really stressed or perhaps they keep moving things around the house whenever anyone’s gone. Whatever the case may be, owners want the assurance that their pets are safe and healthy while they’re away at work, school, or wherever else they need to go for the day.
Just like one pet owner
Raven Atchison has a beautiful German Shepherd who she couldn’t love more. The pup’s name is Kalina and she’s as cute as can be. But, this pup has a problem.
She has separation anxiety
You see, Kalina doesn’t like it when her mom leaves the house. Instead, she wants to spend all of her time with her human. It wasn’t long before Raven noticed that Kalina was acting sad whenever she left home.
Her owner tried to find a solution
Once Raven figured out that Kalina had separation anxiety, she decided to stay home as much as possible. But sometimes, she has to leave. When she does, she’s found a way to keep an eye on Kalina the entire time so she knows she’s okay.
Setting up surveillance cameras
She wanted to see what Kalina was doing at all times. That way, she could take better care of her. And if her adorable dog started to freak out, then Raven could come home to calm her down.
She explained her reasoning
Raven spoke to The Dodo about why she installed the cameras. She said, “I set up these cameras so that when I’m away from home, I can check in on her and make sure she’s OK. And to see if there are any stressors in her environment when I’m not there.”
Not what she expected
Recently, Raven was checking the cameras. She wanted to make sure she hadn’t missed anything about Kalina’s behavior while she was away. That’s when she noticed something unexpected in the videos.
Kalina wanted to cuddle
Even though Kalina couldn’t cuddle her human, she found a way around that. Raven noticed her pup going over to the nightstand and picking up her clothes. Then, she laid down with them.
Her clothes will have to suffice
Soon, Raven realized that Kalina was actually cuddling with her clothes. Since they smelled like her, it probably reminded Kalina of her mom. Luckily, this calmed her down, making it easier for her to deal with her separation anxiety.
It’s all caught on camera
The best part? Since Raven was recording throughout the house, she caught this sweet moment on camera. She then shared it with the world. Already, it’s been viewed over 100,000 times. Obviously, everyone else thinks this video is just as heart-warming as Raven did.
Sweet pets
