A good store will have regular customers that come back time and time again for the good products and friendly service.

But sometimes those customers aren’t human.

But the folks at one Tesco Express store in Rugby, Warwickshire England don’t mind that one bit.

Some of their human customers, however, are a little surprised when they see some four-legged furry shoppers.

The Tesco Express has a cat who likes to frequent the store.

This cat knows exactly what he wants and where to get it. One day the cat just happened to stroll on. He must have been too lazy to find some live prey on his own so he opted for the pet food section.

He strolled right in through the front door and knew exactly where that pet food aisle was.

He pulled his favorite (or the box closest to the ground) off the shelf and tried to help himself.

However, the whole not having thumbs things kind of got in the way and prevented him from being able to open it.

After giving into defeat the cat decided to take a load off and stretch out.

Time for a cat nap.

Melissa Morris-Jones, 39, happened to be shopping in the store at the time when she did a double take of the cat. Was she actually seeing a cat napping in the middle of a grocery store? When she looked again, she knew she was.

“I had just popped into the Tesco to get a drink and some food before work,” Melanie told LADBible. “I came across the cat just lying there next to the box of cat food it had knocked off. It had clearly tried to go for the food, but I don’t know it must have just given up.”

Melanie thought it would be best if she let a store employee know about the cat, he was, after all, an almost cat burglar. But they didn’t seem to mind.

“I asked the cashier if she knew there was a cat over in the pet aisle,” she said. “She said yes she knew it was there and that it was a regular.”

Melanie decided to get a few photos of the cat and posted them on Facebook.

The story ended up getting picked up by several sites and is now featured in publications all over the world.

“I’m not sure who owned it – but it was completely chilled out. The cat looked like it didn’t even care.”

“The fact that it was lying there was really funny. I had to take a picture and post it on Facebook. To be honest I didn’t expect it to get so much attention. It was a bit ironic that the cat was down that aisle as it looked quite plump and well-looked after.”
