Children can melt even the hardest of hearts.

Including the heart of Joey the 2-legged cat.

You see, Joey’s past of a life living on the streets made him one tough cookie.

He was deemed as aggressive by the shelter where Grace found Joey at. They said there was no hope for him.

But she didn’t care.

“The shelter employees told me that he was feral and aggressive and that there was no way he was ever going to be able to live in a home,” Grace told The Dodo.

Grace took Joey home only to find that he softened up to her.

She wasn’t sure how he’d react to being pet but she went for it anyway and he absolutely loved it.

“Since then, the way he’s flourished in my home… he’s a completely different cat,” Grace said.

While Joey was comfortable with cuddling up to Grace, the same couldn’t be said for Grace’s cat Kitty Boy.

Joey wanted nothing to do with Kitty Boy and was quite firm about it.

There was hissing and lunging involved. Eventually, they learned to get along but Grace had no idea Joey was going to react to the foster kittens she would bring into her home.

It started out as Grace initially expected. There was growling and hissing.

But somehow Joey knew that he couldn’t lunge at the sweet baby.

He kept sniffing it and must have smelled that sweet baby smell.

He was obviously annoyed but knew that it was a baby that you had to be gentle with.

The little baby kitten didn’t care about Joey’s hissing.

She just wanted to cuddle up with Joey in his bed. So, she did. Joey protested a little. But there wasn’t much he could do about it.

“He was hissing and growling and then the cutest thing happened. He started kissing her and my jaw dropped,” Grace recalls. “It was one of the most special moments I’ve ever experienced.”

Now Joey is just completely obsessed with all of the kittens that Grace fosters.

“He’s making up for lost time with love,” Grace said. “He’s just so ready to soak it all in. He won’t take his eyes off of them. He wants to play with them all day.”

These little babies have opened up a whole new world for Joey who gets to be like a big brother to them. Some say the kittens knew what they were doing.

The kitten didn’t even flinch when Joey hissed. It was more like, ‘Are u done hissing? Cause now I am gonna snuggle. Thank you,” wrote one commenter on YouTube.

Some also say that Joey was just misunderstood.

“He’s aggressive because his disability leaves him feeling vulnerable. You can tell by the way he turns his body, he’s just trying to be on the defense. This poor baby has a good heart,” said another commenter.
