When it’s dark and stormy outside, spare a thought for the animals who can’t just retreat to their warm, dry homes like us humans can. Of course, wild animals are more than prepared for dealing with any storm that comes their way, but that doesn’t mean that it’s an enjoyable experience for them!

One animal lover was aware of this, and after deciding to leave the door to her house open during a storm, she ended up with the sweetest surprise!

Imgur user Amscolie has always had a soft spot for animals and likes to provide a helping hand when it’s needed. The selfless woman helps to bring up animals who have been orphaned and would otherwise not survive, and because of this, she has ended up with a whole host of wildlife friends.

Some of her closest relationships are with the deer, and they often come to visit her and her pooch, Alphie. Their bond is so close that she names all of her animal friends! They’re truly a special part of her life. The deer in the above picture is called Quinn, and the sweet pic is fittingly titled: ‘Forrest puppy and domesticated puppy.’

Amscolie is essentially a modern-day Snow White, and we’re living for it! One day there was a bad storm in the area, and like she would normally do, Amscolie checked up on her animal friends to make sure they were okay. What she found was truly adorable, and she decided to share her experience on Imgur, writing:

“I raise orphaned wildlife. Recently, the back door was open as a storm was coming. The deer were nowhere to be found.”

The woman had left her door open, so she decided to head inside to investigate. She just hoped that every animal was somewhere safe.

But when the woman walked into her house, she was met with the sweetest surprise! She told her readers:

“Went inside, was heading to the front door, only to see them next to an end table in the living room. Told them they could sleep in the house for the night because it was going to be nasty.”

Huddled up in a cozy corner of her room were three spotted fawns. They seem a little cautious, but they know that they can trust the kind woman to keep them safe. Just look how adorable they are!

Amscolie let the fawns wait out the storm in her house before they presumably ran off back out into the wild again. Speaking about her decision to let them into her house, the woman said:

“But how could you ever say no to a face like this?”

There’s no arguing with that! This story goes to show just how rewarding it is for humans to be kind to animals. These wild animals have a bond with Amscolie that rarely anybody will get to experience. We’re so glad that she shared her story with us!
