Cassie loves animals. She has been rescuing cats and dogs and she doesn’t plan to stop doing so.
Although she knew she didn’t need any more cats, she couldn’t resist taking in another one a few months ago while she was taking a walk outside.
As she told The Dodo, she heard a chirping noise behind the bushes and she couldn’t figure out what it was.
“I heard this really weird chirping noise,” she said. “And as I was walking up to the bush, she just comes running up to me.”
As Cassie was walking towards the bushes, a teeny tiny kitten suddenly ran up to her. She was surprised, and of course, she couldn’t help having a little “moment” with her new friend.
Unlike what everyone would have expected, the beautiful kitten was not scared of her. On the contrary, when Cassie took her in her hands, the little soul just relaxed and felt like she belonged there.
“I pick her up and she melts,” she remembered. “And she’s like ‘Ugh, finally, thank you! I’ve been out here screaming forever!”
Indeed, Cassie felt that the little kitten had been waiting for her the whole time. But, first things first: she had to take care of her somehow. Number one, she had to give her some water.
So, she took her to where her stuff was and tried to find something that could work as a water bowl for her.
“I’m trying to find a dish or something to put water in,” Cassie recalled, “and as I’m turning the hose on, it’s kind of spilling on the floor and she just runs over there and starts drinking the water puddles from the floor.”
Apparently, the kitten had been deprived of water and food for quite some time and she couldn’t miss the opportunity to drink some water once it appeared.
Soon, Cassie found something that could work: a Frisbee! She used it as a water bowl, filled it up with water, and had the cat drink from there. As you might have guessed, the kitten just went on drinking and drinking forever.
Then, it was food time!
The woman knew she had cat food in her car for her own cats and now it was time to use it.
“I had cat food in my car for my cats,” she explained, “so I grabbed some of that and gave it to her and she’s just like scarfing it down.”
When Cassie’s new friend was finally full, she felt like snuggling with her. She just wouldn’t get off of her.
Once Cassie was ready to move on with what she was doing before meeting her, the little kitten followed her everywhere. She just had to show her that they were meant to be!
“I open the door and she’s just following me everywhere.”
While Cassie tried to leave, the cat made it clear that she wasn’t leaving without her. And, indeed, the woman ended up taking her home.
“I knew automatically she was going to stay with me forever.”
When they got home, Cassie gave her a bath and put her to sleep. Luckily, Charm, as her name is now, soon adapted to house life, while she also showed no fear of the other cats and dogs of the house.
Six months later, they are all a big family and Cassie doesn’t forget to share their adventures on Instagram and TikTok.
