Nature is beautiful in various ways. Both balance and imbalances, or symmetry and asymmetry, play a huge part in nature. We could see all of these from planet Earth’s grand design as well as the flora and fauna that inhabit it.

The striking asymmetry from this cat is one of the most beautiful things the internet has seen.

Meet Cat, a half-Persian and half-Scottish cat from Thailand with a perfect two-colored face. Though her name looks like it did not take much creativity to choose, her owner cleverly proved a point in their Instagram bio that “Cats call themselves cat.”

It’s impossible not to be mesmerized by Cat’s features. Half of her face is snow-white while the other half has a beautiful ash gray color. Cat’s uniqueness is rare with its perfectly contrasting colors on both sides on its face, and it is the result of genetic chimerism. Nature’s chimeras are organisms that are composed of cells with more than one distinct genotypes. In Cat’s case, as an animal, she is an individual that possesses two or more zygotes.

The cat looks exactly like Harvey Dent, the two-faced villain in Batman.

“What’s striking about the cat is her split colored face in white and grey,” Cat’s owner described to Bored Panda in their interview. “I think she looks like Harvey Dent from Batman.”

If you’re unaware, Harvey Dent is the supervillain in the DC comic Batman. Half of Dent’s face was intact while the other half had been burnt by acid. Even though Cat was compared with this scary villain, the main difference between them is that Cat is a sweet, adorable feline that could be quite naughty sometimes.

This cat loves playing with cockroaches and toilet paper.

“She’s a crazy cat and she loves toilet paper,” Cat’s owner, Eve, said.

She loves ripping out the white paper rolls with her sharp claws and Eva is forced to hide her supplies because of Cat’s craziness toward them. However, that is not the only thing that gets Cat excited. When Cat sees cockroaches, she’ll pounce on them as she enjoys hunting these household pests. If you get the chance to meet Cat one day, then a roll of toilet paper is a perfect gift to give her.

A little more about genetic chimerism.

Cat is a perfect example of this phenomenon. However, there are far more unique examples of chimerism that nature is waiting for you to notice. Chimerism doesn’t only occur in animals — this phenomenon can also be observed in various organisms like plants and even to us humans. Such processes could be natural but there are cases of artificial chimerism through transplantation.
