According to his family, he’s really sweet, smart, and has the biggest heart.

When Brodie was only 13 days old, he was attacked by his own mother. The attack left Brodie with a permanently disfigured face, cranial and facial injuries, and partial blindness.

But being the tough dog that he is, Brodie survived.

None of that stopped Brodie from capturing the hearts of many.

In fact, the effect on his appearance seemed to make Brodie even more charming.

Amanda Richter and her boyfriend Brad Ames instantly fell in love with Brodie.

And they loved him even more after hearing his story.

In one of the first posts on Brodie’s Instagram page, the couple wrote,

“When we met him and learned that he got his ‘uniqueness’ from a bite to his face by his mom when he was just a tiny pup our hearts melted. He was brought to the shelter because his current owner could no longer care for him. He is partially blind and uses his big eye to see (shocking, right?!) but he still plays and has fun like any other dog. We’ve only had him a few short days but we love him more than anything already!”

Now, Brodie is perfectly happy with his forever family.

And because the adorable dog has fans eagerly awaiting updates, Amanda willingly shares news about Brodie by updating his Instagram page which, by the way, has over 160K followers.

“We hope to train him to be a therapy dog one day so he can help other people with disabilities.”

Amanda and Brad weren’t the first to take Brodie in, though. The dog had a previous owner who eventually returned the pup to Old MacDonald Kennels in Alberta, Canada, because according to him, Brodie was too hyper.

But the couple love Brodie for everything that he is.

“He’s definitely hyper, but he is so intelligent. His brain is perfectly fine and he learns tricks within 10 minutes, usually, which tells me he is a smart boy. He just needed patience and someone to be consistent.”

The day Amanda and Brad came across Brodie online was the same day they went to adopt him. It was love at first sight and they’ve been inseparable since that fateful day.

Doing more than just charming the socks off everyone online and in person, Brodie is also in training to become a therapy dog so he can help those living with disabilities.

Brodie’s experience may have altered his physical appearance permanently but it was that exact circumstance that led him to the right family – a family with hearts as big as his and could love him completely for who he is.

Amanda and Brad never cared that Brodie looked different.

They just knew right off the bat that he was someone they could love and share life with.

You’ll absolutely love looking through Brodie’s photos on his Instagram page! Amanda and Brad even wrote the sweetest description of Brodie on his Instagram bio.

“Just a spunky 1-year-old partially blind rescue pup who looks a bit like a Picasso masterpiece!

Adopted last year & so very loved!”
