In 2014, a rescuer from Romania-based rescue group Howl of a Dog found a two-month-old kitten on the side of the road. The kitten was all alone, and he clearly needed help.

The rescuer wanted to bring the kitten home with her, but there was one problem: she had nine rescue dogs in her house!

The rescuer decided to take a chance on bringing the kitten home. She put the kitten in her backyard and gave him a name. Then, she introduced the dogs to the tiny kitty. On Rilu’s first day home, he was naturally a bit wary of the dogs. He swatted at them a bit, but the dogs didn’t mind—they just thought Rilu playing.

But all of Rilu’s wariness disappeared when the dogs accepted him into their pack!

The dogs cuddled with Rilu and let him share their food. It was their way of showing the kitten that he was part of their family now.

Soon, Rilu started following the dogs around—he never wanted to leave their sides.

“By accepting Rilu into their pack, our rescue dogs actually saved his life. And Rilu just couldn’t be more grateful for that,” Howl of a Dog said in a YouTube video.

Now, Rilu is all grown up, and he still loves hanging out with his dog friends more than anything! Rilu even gets invited to all the dogs’ parties, including their holiday party.

Rilu also gets along with other cats, and he has even made friends with a hedgehog! But still, the dogs are Rilu’s true BFFS.

“Rilu became a special member of the Howl of a Dog rescue family. A special friendship which once again shows how amazing rescued animals can be,” Howl of a Dog said.

Many of Rilu’s new friends were rescued by Howl of a Dog from tough situations.

This includes one of Rilu’s best friends, Joy. Poor Joy was found as a newborn puppy on the sidewalk. Howl of a Dog took him in and nursed him back to health.

Rilu is also good friends with Zuzi, a formerly homeless dog who was found trying to survive in a parking lot.

Rilu also loves hanging out with Nina, a pup that spent her entire life attached to a chain before Howl of a Dog saved her. He also loves Louie, who was founded injured in the woods. After all these dogs have been through, it’s amazing that they’re still so sweet and gentle with Rilu!
