Nothing is more spellbinding than an adorable dog doing adorable things. But Remus takes things to an entirely new level – he actually responds to spells! Harry Potter spells to be exact.

Remus is a sweet, lovable, longhaired mini Dachshund who also happens to be a bit of a Harry Potter fanatic – just like his mom.

His mom, Anna Brisbin, adopted Remus when he was just a little puppy (born on March 1, 2018) and has been raising him like the true wizard he was supposed to be. Well – she seems to be the wizard, but Remus is more than happy to get in on the fun and help her out with practicing spells.

Recently, Brisbin uploaded a video to YouTube showing off all of their hard work and just how obedient Remus has become – all thanks to a few ‘Harry Potter’ spells that they’ve been working on together.

Most dogs respond to ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands but Remus’ owner has replaced those traditional words with some a bit more…charming.

With a wand in her hand, Brisbin casts ‘spells’ upon Remus and he adorably complies.

The first spell to be practiced – ‘stupefy’. With a wave of the wand, Brisbin says the magic word and Remus immediately knows this means to essentially ‘lay down’. It’s like magic!

The next spell to be practiced? Let’s try ‘Wingardium Leviosa’ – loosely translated to ‘up! up!’. Remus jumps on his hind legs and dances toward his wizardess mom in adoring obedience.

The precious video shows Remus then waiting for his next spell so that he can please his spell-casting mom. It’s clear that these two have had quite a bit of practice with spellbinding because Remus seems to know all of the spells by heart.

The next spell in the book is ‘Avada Kedavra!’

‘Avada Kadavra’ as we can see by Remus’ dutiful actions is the Harry Potter spell equivalent to what most dogs would know as “play dead”. Remus lies on the bed for a moment, looking up at mom, making sure his actions correlate with the spell. He clearly wants to be a good wizard someday!

‘Ascendio!’ is the next spell that mom casts on Remus and this is clearly one of his favorites to perform.

Under the cast of her spell, Remus jumps up onto the bed, clearly knowing that the ‘Ascendio’ spell causes the uncontrollable urge to get to the highest point in the room. Plus, the velvet Harry Potter-esque duvet looks like quite the comfortable spot to be!

Naturally, the ‘descendo’ spell follows ‘ascendio’.

Brisbin twirls her wand in the air, says the magic word, and Remus jubilantly leaps off of the bed and back down to the floor. He’s getting a hang of this spell-casting thing. I wonder how long it took her to master these spells with the adorable mini Dachshund?

‘Revelio!’ is the next spell in the wizard’s spellbook.

‘Revelio’ might sound like the name of an opera, but it turns out – it’s wizard-speak for ‘come!’ Remus seems to love this spell the best because he comes running full-speed down the hallway toward mom. There must be a treat waiting behind the camera.

Of course, no doggy spellbook is complete without the equivalent to ‘go fetch!’

In this Harry Potter-themed household, ‘go fetch’ is actually ‘Accio Ball!’ Regardless of the words, this is another spell that Remus is happy to fall under. Chasing balls seems to be this furry wizard-in-training’s favorite past time.

Some of the next adorable spells to come are ‘Alohomora!’, ‘Expelliarmus!’, ‘Engorgio!’, ‘Aguamenti!’, ‘Confundus!’, ‘Relashio!’, and ‘Serpensortia!’ to name a few. If you’re a Harry Potter (or dog!) fan, the video just seems to get cuter and cuter as it goes on.

Brisbin is open to suggestions for any other Harry Potter-inspired spells she should teach Romus.
