Unfortunately, not all animals have a warm, loving and caring home. Puppy Jordan can definitely relate. The poor pup was abused by his previous owner and thrown into a ditch like trash. He was found on a dry spot of the LA River and was too weak to move on his own.

After getting a call from bystanders, local animal rescuers from Cloud 9 arrived at the scene to comfort and help Jordan.

The dog was in such bad shape that the rescuers needed assistance themselves.

Jordan seemed completely lifeless and the volunteers weren’t sure what to do. They saw that the four-footer had severe injuries and realized they needed back-up. The first responders got in touch with their colleagues over at Hope For Paws to get him emergency care.

It looked like Jordan wouldn’t make it, but his fighting spirit proved otherwise.

The two rescue teams then lifted the poor pup out of the ditch and arranged for transport to an emergency veterinarian.

At the scene, the animal rescuers discovered what happened to Jordan. His presumed previous owner is medically ill, and he reportedly couldn’t handle the pup’s mange. The man then decided to chop the pup’s leg off, thinking it would kill him.

He thought that Jordan was already dead and threw him thirty feet down in the dry riverbank, but the dog managed to survive. It took two days before bystanders spotted him.

Especially after hearing what happened, the vet says that the fact that Jordan is alive can only be described as a miracle.

However, as you can imagine, the pup’s condition was still very severe and he definitely wasn’t out of the woods. Recovery was possible, but everyone knew that it would be a very long and tough road.

Thanks to the efforts of vets and the tender loving care of his rescuers and new best friends, Jordan’s condition started improving slowly.

Aside from first aid and emergency care for his chopped off leg, the vet and the rescuers decided to wait a couple of days with treatments because Jordan still wasn’t strong enough.

After a while, the pup’s spirits started to lift, and he was also physically strong enough for surgery.

The brave four-footer received a blood transfusion and also underwent plenty of surgeries.

Luckily, a foster mom was already found for little Jordan to make sure that the pup would have all the love and attention he’d need during his recovery.

For the first time in a while, the pup had a safe and loving place to call home again. Jordan and foster mom Lisa Chiarelli instantly bonded and he got along really nicely with his siblings Lola and Frankie and the rest of the family.

Thanks to his new environment, Jordan was full of energy and one happy little dog again. For example, he just loves playing around with the other dogs in the house, and he even took a swim in the pool!

Jordan is always a positive source of energy in the house and it didn’t take long before his foster owners decided to officially adopt him.
