Honestly, we can’t decide which photo is cuter. And just check out those puppy paws – you can already tell Irwin is going to be a big boy.

And big he grew!

Now he’s a sweet-looking shaggy sidekick who looks like he enjoys getting a lift from dad.

We’re all tempted to hold our pets up like Simba in The Lion King once in a while.

Even after they get too big – and SO fluffy – it seems worth giving it a try.

We can’t stop laughing at the comment: “That looks like a malamute / bouncy castle cross.”

This doggo is either holding once heck of a grudge or his owner managed to take another epic photo.

Either way, we just love this comparison. We just hope he looks happy once in a while.

Years? More like months!

This puppy grew into a big girl REAL fast.

We just hope people keep that in mind when they adopt a little one.

It’s amazing to have a dog for 15 years. Imagine all of the good times these two have had.

There’s really nothing like have a dog to grow up with – especially during those teenage years!

Oh, those eyes! How could you ever say no?

In fact, we think that’s probably the hardest part of having a dog.

How do you not give them all the treats all the time?!

Big dogs never really have a sense of just how big and heavy they get for our relatively puny laps.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we stop asking them to get right up there.

After all, who doesn’t want to cuddle with their best bud?

We’re not so sure how things are working out in the second photo since the dog on the bottom looks a little afraid of being crushed.

But we bet these two have some great times during the day – and find some way to snuggle comfortably at night.

We know how it feels to outgrow your favorite thing. One day your jeans fit and the next day you’re laying down to zip them up.

It’s JUST like trying to sleep under a dresser.

Those ears! He looks like he’s part bunny rabbit.

And that pleading gaze is still intact. It looks like this dog knows just how well that look works on humans.

Apparently, this pup has gotten used to being held by pops.

It went from sleepy puppy to adoring adult – and this husky even looks like it has a smile on its face.

What a difference a year makes – for everyone!

It looks like both dog and master have grown into themselves over the last 365 days – and they both look happier for it.

Sometimes that sweet puppy face sticks around long past their puppy days.

Although, at just under 2 years old, this sweet girl is still a kid – a kid with her own favorite chair, of course.

It’s hard to imagine puppies getting cuter and fluffier, but this one managed to pull it off.

He has truly mastered the camera – and no doubt many hearts along the way.

And they each have that special place where they like to be pet the most. For this sweet girl, it’s right on the chin.

OMG, how did this puppy manage to turn into a CUTER dog?

We can’t take it. But we would really love to take it home and give it all the cuddles.

It’s always helpful to have a sibling to compare a puppy to as it grows up.

But with a Great Dane it’s pretty easy to see how fast they grow – and just how big!

These gentle giants are just the cutest.

Whoa, that’s a lot of dog!

These two are “The Cheese Pups” of viral video fame and now we know their growth might be due to all that calcium!

Dogs are such helpful co-workers. And while we’re being sarcastic, at least they’re slightly less disruptive than cats.

At least this little guy seems pretty serious about getting things done.

Danes grow SO fast. It’s just unbelievable.

We love those big, floppy ears – and this pup’s ability to sleep in the same place and position after gaining 100 pounds.

Seriously, what’s cuter here? Those tiny paw pads? The big, floppy ears? Or that “blep” tongue hanging out in that second photo?

It’s a good thing this dog is getting bigger because you’d definitely want more of it in your life.

These cuties have such friendly faces. They almost look cuter once they grow into those noses.

And while time may have passed between these two photos, we see the toys managed to survive.

This Husky-Aussie mix looks pretty happy to be growing up in a loving home.

And those puppy photos are just so sweet we can’t stop looking. It’s hard to believe something could be just as cute all grown up.

Things are probably getting a bit uncomfortable, but that’s not stopping these sleepy dogs from trying to nap the same way they did when one was just a wee puppy.

This relationship is just too sweet.

It must be so rewarding to rescue a dog and watch it grow up in a happy home knowing what the alternative could have been.

In the second and third photos, this dog looks like it’s thinking about the same thing.

While Maximus has grown into his “mask,” he still looks hyper serious.

In fact, he makes us want to snuggle him and apologize at the same time.

At first we wondered how she could be holding up such a big dog in the second photo – and then we realized that the pup is almost certainly 60% fluff.

But all that dog hair clean up would be worth it for a furry friend.

Boy does this dog know how to strike a pose!

Golden retrievers will always look so friendly and snuggly – but they really do get a certain air of nobility about them as they age.

And it’s fun to see.

This American Akita looks like it went through a brief phase in adolescence when it didn’t mind the mirror selfie.

Can you believe only 7 months went by between the first and the third photo?

How sweet are those giant puppy ears?

He really grew into them though – and while we don’t know how much time passed in between, this adorable dog managed to maintain that puppy stare.

Some people get a big surprise when they adopt a puppy only to see it grow a ton in just weeks.

These photos were taken only 10 weeks apart!

That means there’s still some growing to do – though were not sure how long the chair can hold up to the task.

Our dogs will always be our babies, even long after they’ve outgrown the title (and our embrace).

This dog looks like it learned to trust its owner a lot over the years. We’re not sure it was all that into the idea of being held in that first photo, but now it’s mugging for the camera.

Everybody looks a little sleepy in the first photo.

But all the growth (and naps) that took place over one year were eye-opening.

We love to see the human transformations as well!

That little fluffball on the left was nearly the size of that toy. And clearly, she’s a gentle playmate because it managed to survive a few years.

Doesn’t it look so tiny next to this grown up good girl?

When we’re little, we all want to be adults. But this dog looks like it just realized all the responsibility that comes with being a grown-up.

At least he doesn’t have to pay taxes.

This corgi, Harlan, looks so similar to an adult that he could pass for a computer-generated age progression.

Same pose, same smile – the only difference is that he lost those puppy dog eyes. Though we’re still pretty convinced by the stare.

This pup looks a little concerned about the camera – and that chair looks like a hiding space.

Now, it just looks like a place to chill while it flashes big smiles.

What a difference 2 years will make – but at least they still fit in their favorite spot!

Our joints ache just thinking about that much growth in a year!

Alas, this pup still looks like a big baby at heart all snuggled up in dad’s arms.

We just love how this beautiful dog is A-OK with being lifted up just for fun.

Maybe he remembers his days in Simba mode and is just waiting for mom to get her muscles on and lift him up to the sky again.

Good luck with that, buddy!

It’s amazing what kind of discomfort we’ll get used to for our pets.

But how could you possibly kick this precious girl off of your lap?

Maybe dad’s legs are just getting really strong.

Both of these photos make us want a dog. Of course, they aren’t all this adorably chill – and no dog is this chill all the time.

Still, that second photo especially makes us super jealous.

We’re not sure this beautiful boy likes the baby cradle these days – or that he even did when he was a puppy.

But while he doesn’t look terribly comfortable, he does look willing to humor his mom.

Heck, even if they don’t fit, they still try to sit. This goes for cats as well.

Once a pet finds a favorite hiding spot, it’s hard for them to understand why it doesn’t grow with them.

This is Fred and he managed to grow awfully big in just 10 months!

But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t still like to be escorted around by dad.

In fact, he looks downright pleased by the free ride.

We love these wild limbs.

While this dog seems perfectly content to be daddy’s little dude, he’s not quite sure what to do with those paws anymore.

So he’ll just raise them in the air like he just don’t care.

This sweet pup managed to maintain maximum floofage over the years.

And while commenters were eager to take a brush to him or her, it may just be that this doggo just got done playing.

Hopefully, no one gets a Saint Bernard without accounting for over 100 pounds worth of growth in less than a year.

These snuggly, drooly lovebugs are great companions – but you have to make sure they don’t get used to sharing your bed (at least not if you also want to use the bed).

There’s nothing like taking a drive with your bestie – especially when they can’t criticize your driving skills.

A furry co-pilot is the best upgrade you can get for your car.

That’s a mere 9 months of Great Dane growth.

Of course, we have no doubt that Norman still thinks he’s a lap dog.

And those ears are still so irresistable!

We’re not sure how much is dog and how much is floof here.

Either way, mom can still pick up this big pup – and he or she doesn’t seem to mind one bit.

They’ll always be our babies, after all.
