It appears that some animals would just love to join the police force, as some officers from Colorado Springs and Oxford have had a funny and particularly furry encounter with a couple of unlikely new police recruits.

Just recently, Christopher Frabbiele, a police officer at the Colorado Springs Police Department, was on his way to the scene of an accident when a small buddy jumped on the windshield and wanted to ride along. It was an adorable raccoon who clearly didn’t want to miss any part of the action, and he managed to secure himself on the car in hilarious fashion.

We’re pretty sure that the correct response for a raccoon jumping on your windshield isn’t covered in the police academy, but Officer Frabbiele stopped the car a bit later to make sure the animal wouldn’t get hurt. His partner didn’t hesitate to grab a quick snap of their furry police friend and Officer Frabielle took a few pictures of his own as well. The raccoon jumped off the patrol car back to safety shortly after.

“Officer Frabbiele discovered that Raccoons do come out at night and was pawsitively surprised when one ended up on his windshield as he was en route to a serious injury accident. He found a safe place to pull over and snapped the other two photos of the hitchhiker,” the Colorado Springs Police Department wrote on their official Facebook page.

This intervention by a raccoon wasn’t the only furry encounter with the law enforcement this past week, as a police officer in Oxford, Ohio met an adorable small feline that jumped right through the car window.

Officer Richard Butler immediately noticed the cat’s playfulness as it made its way onto the dashboard of the cruiser to play a little. Officer Butler also played with the cat for a bit and his partner even snapped a picture of him giving the cat a couple of belly scratches.

“Is anyone missing this guy? Anyone want to adopt this guy (no, not the officer)? Officer Butler was checking on Cobblestone Community Church on Kehr Rd when he jumped into the open car window. Super friendly and loving and now refusing to leave the police car! We do not shelter cats in our K9 kennels but Officer Butler is going to foster him for a few days instead of turning him loose on his own. If this is your cat or you have an interest in taking the cat in please let us know,” the Oxford Police Division wrote.

Oxford Police Chief John Jones stated that the original owner of the cat hasn’t been found yet, and that Officer Butler is still taking care of the kitten. Many people have expressed interest in adopting the cat if the original owner isn’t found.
