Marnie the blue Indian Ringneck Parrot is an adorable and very chatty animal. He loves talking with his owner, and he’s a big fan of telling her that he loves her. He also likes giving kisses!
Marnie’s owner got the little bird in 2006 when he was just six weeks old.
She hand-fed him for those first few weeks, and she helped socialize him. Soon, the parrot was happily hanging with his owner’s other birds, including a Macaw named Scar, a Cockatiel named Mr. Pretty Bird, and a Congo African Gray parrot named Chessa.
Marnie also loved stuffed animals, and especially stuffed rabbits. Marnie’s owner says that Marnie got his first rabbit on Easter, just a couple weeks after she adopted him. The rabbit says ‘this bunny loves you’ in a high voice when you squeeze it, and Marnie started imitating that voice. He also watched his owner speak, and he would imitate her too—even when he was a baby, Marnie loved talking and did it any chance he got!
In 2009, Marnie’s owner started sharing videos of Marnie on her YouTube channel.
Her first video showed Marnie and Mr. Pretty Bird having a chat over breakfast. Marnie adorably kept saying to Mr. Pretty Bird, “You’re so cute!”
Marnie’s owner shared videos of Marnie talking, eating, and flying around the living room. The videos quickly started racking up thousands of views—everyone loved Marnie’s adorable way of talking. The sweet bird was also a big fan of showing affection with kisses, and everyone enjoyed seeing how much Marnie loved his owners and toys.
In 2011, Marnie’s owner shared one of her most adorable videos yet.
The video showed Marnie’s fifth birthday party. All of Marnie’s bird friends came to the party, and his dog friend Bochi was also there. All the animals enjoyed a delicious waffle together.
After eating, Marnie got his birthday present: a new stuffed rabbit. Marnie happily said ‘thank you’ to his owner and gave his new rabbit a kiss on the nose.
The heartwarming video quickly went viral, receiving over 4.5 million views. Everyone loved seeing Marnie so happy, and they also liked seeing how much Marnie’s owner loved him.
Marnie is now a bit older, but he’s still as cute as ever. He still likes saying ‘I love you’ to his owner, and he also likes hanging out with his other bird friends.
In March 2018, Marnie’s owner shared an adorable photo of Marnie celebrating his twelfth birthday. He had a huge cake, and he was surrounded by all of his favorite toys.
