The elephant stays on the road for a while, chasing the swallows and having fun. The whole time, his mom is nearby in the bushes, supervising him and making sure he stays out of trouble. She doesn’t have to worry, though; all the baby wants to do is play!

Once the birds fly away, the elephant trots back over to his family. Together, the herd goes off into the trees.

As this video shows, baby elephants love to play, and they do so in lots of different ways.

Baby elephants love playing in the water, and they’re also a big fan of mud baths. Little elephants enjoy playing with their friends and wrestling in the mud, and they also use the mud to help cool down their body temperature during those hot days on the savannah.
