We’ve all heard how some people say that dogs look like and take on the personality of their owners.
And some of us might think that it’s a little far fetched
But when you see British photographer Gerrard Gethings’ series of animal and owner portraits you might start to think that it’s true.
Gethings is known for his animal portraits that are infused with character. But he took his latest fun project a step further.
He turned it into a guessing game.
“Do You Look Like Your Dog?” asks players to match pets with their owners.
“Do You Look Like Your Dog?” will include 50 cards: 25 or dogs and 25 of their owners.
There are also humorous texts included in a booklet that offer clues about the 25 people and their four-legged friends. It will be released on Sept. 10.
“Why DO people look like their dogs? Is it shared personality traits, barely suppressed narcissistic tendencies, or do they grow together over time like old married couples?” the game’s website says. “This game explores the intense bonds we develop with our dogs, which are far from only skin, or even fur, deep. Play as a memory game with the cards face down for added entertainment. Collect the most pairs to win! This is the perfect gift for dog lovers.”
Though the pet owners have been stylized, their resemblances to their owners really are uncanny.
Like Monica and her Chow Chow Reggie.
These two shared the same hair color and fun personality.
Or how about Charlotte and her Chinese Crested dog Caspar. These two are just too cute. Same hair, don’t care.
Elle and her Puli Yasmin Le Bon are practically twins.
These two both have beautiful dark locks. Elle is even dressing like her furry best friends.
These two look as happy as they can be. Meet Jessica and her Bichon Frise Buddy. Both with a perfect pearly white coiff.
Beards of a feather flock together… or something like that.
Anyway, it seems like that would be Cenk and his Schnauzer Horst’s motto. Cenk’s hair even match Horst’s long eyebrows.
Look at these two shaggy dudes. Harry and Hattie, an Italian Spinone, look like they could be beard brothers. They also share the same long locks.
Aren’t these two fashionable. They share the same long chic locks. I wonder if Henry and his Afghan Hound Hope go to the same hairdresser.
