There’s no doubt that pets are fun to have around.
Their playfulness can lift our moods. Their curiosity and energy force us to be fit for long walks, which is a win-win for the both of you, to be honest.
While your bills can suffer dents here and there because of additional food and veterinarian bills, we can all agree that it’s a cost we’re willing to shoulder. And speaking of other costs, pets also ding our wallets with “miscellaneous” things.
We’re not talking about toys or accessories.
We’re talking about gutted stuffed toys and pillows. Ripped bags of flour. Missing homework that’s just too embarrassing or unbelievable to explain. We’re talking about the unwilling casualties of their playfulness and curiosity.
That’s the case for a woman named Carly.
During the holidays, she noticed that things were a bit off. More specifically, ornaments and decor ended up broken and destroyed. We can quickly point our fingers at our furry babies but without the proper evidence, we try and get to the bottom of the mystery.
To catch the culprit once and for all, Carly set up a home security camera for her pets. Even if she’s away, she can remotely monitor their condition and the house in general.
This setup has a lot of advantages when it comes to pets.
Some people use this to watch over their pets, just in case they get into an accident. Some people use the system to be with their pets even if they’re at work. The two-way radio allows them to issue vocal commands or just get their attention. For Carly, however, it’s a way to see who’s paws and jaws are up to no good.
In an adorable minute-long video that was posted by Ring, the mystery unraveled right in front of her. Sitting in the middle of the living room is Mercy, her 1-year-old German shepherd dog. She’s lounging by the floor and munching on one of the picture frames.
We don’t know the allure of picture frames for dogs but Mercy seems to get it.
Through the radio, you can hear Carly screaming for Mercy to put the picture frame down. The technology would’ve been a convenient way to stop Mercy but another set of problems presented itself.
Hearing Carly’s voice, her cats suddenly start looking for her. They know they heard her speak but they can’t seem to understand why she turned into a camera all of a sudden.
The cats investigate the device.
It sounds exactly like their owner, so they start to look for where she is. One of the cats named Ling Ling even obscures Carly’s view, so she becomes clueless about what Mercy’s up to.
She tries her best to shoo the cat away from the camera but it doesn’t budge. If they are Mercy’s accomplices, we can never tell.
As Carly attempts to take control of the situation, she can’t help but laugh. It’s all pretty hilarious and adorable.
But at least, Carly can now sleep at night knowing who’s behind the destruction of her picture frames. And yes, Mercy was responsible for all the destroyed ornaments too.
During the holidays, it is best to secure your decors. Cats and dogs are particularly fond of decorations and these can lead to accidents. These animals can jump on Christmas trees, hanging garlands, or candlesticks so it won’t hurt to be extra careful with these things.
