People can’t seem to get enough of this rare one-eared doggo, and once you actually see him, you’ll understand why!

Golden retrievers are just born happy. Their gorgeous coat of golden fur just screams “sunshine,” while their charming, drooling smiles can make anyone’s day turn into a very good day.

And that’s exactly what Rae the golden retriever is doing for everyone looking for some good news social media. Except she’s taking it to the next level with her accidental “unicorn” good looks!

When accidents happen, it’s usually not a good thing. But in Rae’s case, it was pure, lovable genius! In times like these, we need the Universe to surprise us with unexpected gifts like this.

When a woman named Sam (who is not her mama) shared a photo of the unique one-eared retriever on TikTok, the pup went viral. And she’s been infecting everyone with goodness graciousness ever since!

It’s impossible not to fall in love with this golden girl at first sight. She is, after all, the cutest unicorn doggo ever! And probably the only one in existence.

Although it sort of looks like a baby Mohawk, that’s actually her ear flopping around on top of her head. It’s what makes her so adorably unique!

So how did this 12-week-old little lady even get this way? Well, it’s so rare that there’s not even a name for it. But that’s okay, because this girl is a one of a kind fur baby who is totally owning her name. In case you haven’t figured it out, Rae is “ear” spelled backwards.

When Rae was born, no one at the animal hospital had ever seen the likes of her before! Was she some ancient Greek god’s one-eared pet? Who knows! But, one thing they did know was love at first sight.

Check out the Topknot Twins!

Brianna Aardema, one of Rae’s caretakers at Family Friends Veterinary Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan told Good Morning America:

“The minute I saw her, I knew I wanted to raise her and be there for her even though I knew the road to recovery wouldn’t always be easy.”

Rae had to undergo emergency surgery right after she was born, and she was under constant supervision right after that. Even though her situation is totally unique, she seems to be okay.

Living the unicorn life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Rae’s ears need a lot of extra TLC, especially since golden retrievers are prone to getting ear infections.

That means once in a while Rae has to come off her mighty throne for a spot inspection, just to make sure she’s okay. Then she’s allowed to go back to being her regular golden girl self!
