A baby dear found itself in a life-threatening situation when a lady-dog scared it off into the lake where it would’ve likely drowned if it hadn’t been for a timely intervention by an unexpected hero who saved the day.

‘The deer ain’t gonna make it’
At first glance, it was just an ordinary day at the lake and nothing could indicate the drama that would unfold mere minutes later after a guy sailing in his boat spotted a baby dear swimming in the middle of a lake in desperate attempt to escape from danger.
When he realized the deer was lost and would not have the strength to make it to the shore, our hero jumped to the rescue, wasting no time in the process!
Only the timely intervention of a guy in his boat saved the baby deer from a watery grave
“She wasn’t gonna make it for very much longer,” the hero explained, holding the desperate, soaked, and exhausted baby deer in his hands after he safely pulled it out of the water. “I got you, baby girl, don’t you worry.”
Exhausted, the deer wasn’t even able to stand up and he allowed her a couple of minutes of rest before the second phase of the rescue operation could begin.
“She’s just exhausted and terrified, I’m sure. My worry is obviously she can’t run now,” he explained.
Without help, the exhausted deer wouldn’t have been able to escape predators
“If a coyote or another dog comes after her… she’s done for,” the man said, knowing he was the only one who could help her get back on her feet and return back to safety.
He brought her back to the shore and get her up on the ground, but she was still too weak to fend for herself. There was only one solution left: to reunite the fawn with its mother.
“The mother’s gonna be coming back to this area for her fawn,” the baby deer’s brave rescuer said. “I hate just leaving an animal behind because I’m just a big ol’ softy.”
Abandoning the fawn was not an option, so he decided to take her home and bring her back to the lake later that evening.
Tired and weak, the fawn was brought to its rescuer’s home for recovery
With the fawn wrapped in a blanket and sitting in his lap, the gallant rescuer drove back home where it nurtured it back to health, planning to return it to the same spot where he found it, in order to reunite the baby dear with its mother.
“She’s doing okay, just scared and tired. Not gonna leave her down there defenseless, helpless.”
He did his best to spoil her, giving the fawn the best possible care before he took her back to the lake.
“All right, she’s kicking! She’s finally getting that life in her that I was looking for,” he proclaimed happily. “She’s starting to kick like she wants to getaway.”
With each passing moment, the call of the wild was becoming stronger, and the time the fawn and its rescuer spent together was coming to an end.
Time to go and find mama
“You go find mama,” said our brave hero after releasing the fawn into the woods. Sensing freedom and feeling strong again, the baby deer trotted into the woods and was caught on camera later that night, on its mother’s heels!
