Humans and dogs have shared an unbreakable beyond throughout history. Not only do pets provide unconditional love but they also enjoy cuddling. So, when a dog gets injured or lost, it turns the world upside down. People who have a genuine appreciation for these animals will go out of their way to even help dogs they don’t know. That’s one man’s story.

An impossible task

Someone reported a dog trapped in the mountains outside of a small abandoned village in Taiwan. Although a lot of people wanted to help, they thought it was impossible. After all, it would require a long hike to reach the area.

They finally arrive

The men finally reached their destination. They initially looked by some old oil drums where they’d been told the dog was living. But he wasn’t there. As they scoured around, they spotted him underneath stacked chairs.

An immediate response

Many dogs in this situation would growl or run away. But not this one…he immediately started to wag his tail. Slowly, Sean slipped a leash around his neck. It was as though this pup knew he was safe.

Facing challenges

Sean realized something this do was in poor shape. Along with being extremely weak due to a lack of food, he was in a lot of pain. They had to come up with a plan to get him down the mountain.

So grateful

Despite not feeling well, this dog was so grateful that someone had come to rescue him. To show his appreciation, he kissed Sean. Although the men knew they wouldn’t leave without him, this made them even more determined to complete the mission.

A perfect plan

There was no way he could walk so they had to get creative. That’s when Sean decided he could put the pup inside of his backpack and carry him for another seven-hour hike. That’s commitment.

It wasn’t easy

Of course, if they were going to spend all this time with the dog, he’d need a name. So, they called him Sandy. Since the trail was quite steep and rocky, and now with a pup in tow, they had to be extra careful making their way back.

Home sweet home

At last, they were home. But first, Sean needed to have Sandy checked by a vet. Fortunately, he didn’t have any major injuries but he was still incredibly weak. For several days, all he did was lay around and sleep. Then, he began to perk up.

He finds his forever home

Once healed, Sandy’s personality started to emerge. He wasn’t just a good dog but a great one. A man who lives in Taiwan followed his story and fell in love with this beautiful pup. After making sure it was a good fit, Sandy went to his forever home.
