Some people in the world have tons of compassion in their hearts. These people will go out of their way to help any creature in need, big or small.
A grandfather named Jimmy is an example of one of these people.
For eighty-five-year-old Jimmy, finding a pregnant cat on the street was never a burden or a problem.
Instead, Jimmy found a lot of joy in helping the cat safely and comfortably give birth in his shed and was excited at the chance to help raise the kittens to come.
When Jimmy originally found the stray kittens, his wife was not happy with the idea of him raising them.
Despite his wife saying no to keeping the kittens, Jimmy found a way to secretly raise the kittens using the empty shed the couple had behind their house.
“My grandpa let a stray cat have her kittens in his tool shed and now he’s raising a bunch of cats behind my grandmas back bc she said no,” Jimmy’s granddaughter, Syl, posted on Twitter.
The story began when a particular stray cat had grabbed Jimmy’s attention when he saw it near the tool shed in the backyard. The cat seemingly became attached to Jimmy, and the rest was history.
“My grandpa felt for the stray cats and would leave food in the back of the house near his tool shed, a spot where my grandma doesn’t go. This particular cat was especially friendly and got attached to my grandpa,” Syl explained.
After three weeks of keeping the cat and her kittens hidden from his wife, she discovered the family living in their backyard shed.
Although she was unhappy with the idea before, she immediately grew fond of the family of cats after she saw the adorable kittens. It’s proof that an adorable kitten face can solve all the world’s problems!
For that reason, Jimmy and his wife have decided to let the kittens continue living in their backyard shed until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
Jimmy had already built a strong connection with the cat that gave birth to the kittens, so having the whole family around was nothing less than an amazing experience for Jimmy.
And even if they may not see eye-to-eye on the issue of stray cats, Jimmy and his wife are doing well and are very happy. Syl shared a sweet set of photos of them on her Twitter page.
We’re so glad that Jimmy’s ‘secret project’ worked out so well and that his wife ended up falling in love with the kittens too. What a sweet story.
