They left as fast as they came and didn’t cause any harm. 😂

Ever wonder what it would be like to see a giant duck invasion?

Well, now you know. These little ducks sure do look big and ferocious, but they are just your normal ducklings. They just happen to be living in a model village.

It was a pretty big surprise for the people who own the model village in Torquay, United Kingdom.

They hadn’t seen any signs of the ducklings until that day, when they just showed up. They aren’t really sure how they go there or why they chose to be there, but they sure do look out of place.

Mike Rhodes, deputy manager at Babbacombe Model Village, said:

“I’m not sure if they hatched in the Model Village, but nobody had seen them before Sunday. They spent the day with us, wandering around the gardens, football stadium, and the beach — then disappeared by Monday. It’s almost as if they came on a day trip.”

The photos of the ducklings sure do look like something from an adorable horror movie.

They are bigger than the cars, people, and buildings but clearly still just ducklings. If your village was going to be invaded by creatures, these would be the ones you would want to invade it.

As strange as it seems, these ducklings aren’t the first animals to make the mini town their home. A cat made his way there and was right at home for a while. The cat wasn’t destructive and didn’t seem to bother anything, so they just left him there.

He sometimes returns and visits the town from time to time.

Manager Simon Wills said:

“The cat is well known to us. He is a domestic cat that lives in the area. We don’t know who he belongs to, but he is always friendly with the customers and they all love to see him around the gardens and pet him.”

The village is a popular attraction that has been around for 55 years.

It changes regularly, and new models are constantly being added to keep it interesting and to bring visitors back for more. The model village’s website says:

“The village portrays English life and culture over the last 6 decades and is sure to bring to life those childhood memories! Over 400 models of houses, stately homes, factories, shops, entertainment venues, environmental features. There are a variety of architectural styles from medieval through Shakespearean to Victorian, along with railways, vehicles, and some well-known monuments and landmarks. Not forgetting, of course, 13,000 miniature people who live in the village.

“Some of the more favorite models include the house on fire, Stonehenge, a fire-breathing dragon, the model railway, the football stadium and the beach and lake, complete with its own naturist beach (summer months only of course!).”

“To add an extra dimension of fun, humor prevails throughout the park. Some very obvious, some very subtle, but one visit is never enough to spot it all. For example; Annie Seedballs – the confectioner’s shop; Can you spot the man mowing the lawn – he has been mowing the same patch for over 20 years! Can you spot the ghost in the tower – many visitors in a hurry miss it!

“There are now several indoor features too, such as the ‘Little Ender’ soap set, the Victorian Snowy village, the World of movie miniatures and a 4D Cinema showing 3D films with extra special effects. In the last few years, several new attractions have been added.”

While the model village clearly attracts a lot of people, it also attracts a lot of animals, too.

Maybe it’s because they feel safe behind its walls, or maybe they just like all the attention they get from the visitors and staff.

Now that the village has seen an invasion of ducklings and an attack from a giant cat, what’s next?

Only time will tell. Hopefully, whatever animal wander in will be as respectful of the property as the others. Maybe they will come and go just as quickly, too.
