Like any relationship, we all receive love from our friends and partners in different ways. For some, a good conversation is their idea of loving expression. For others, it’s about gifts! When someone brings you a gift, you feel cared for by them. What about dogs, though? Do dogs have a love language?

Like certain humans preferring conversation and others preferring an unexpected coffee, dogs like to receive love and attention in different ways! One video that was recorded a few years ago shows us just how funny those little moments can be.

Linda is a German shepherd that hundreds of thousands of people have viewed while asking for more attention from her friend.

In the video, Linda and her owner sit on a bed or couch, and the human decides to start filming the event. If you had to ask me, he knows what’s about to happen! Not three seconds into the video, Linda decides that she wants some attention from her owner.

Jumping up to his face, she starts to signal in small, subtle ways that she isn’t happy.

Hilariously, Linda starts to bother her friend with a few subtle actions to get his attention. Starting off, she lets off a few high-pitched whines. While they are quiet, they definitely pierce the silence! After the whine, Linda hops up on his arm and makes herself known. If I was a betting man, she wants some attention!

At the core of it, dogs love affection!

Finding out how your dog receives love is a super important part of the relationship. Learning allows you to have a deeper and more meaningful connection with your furry friend and give them the type of affection they need! The best part is that a dog isn’t too picky when it comes to affection! They almost always love any time you give them. Even from the description that the man put on the video, we can tell he really cares for Linda.

“Welcome to my youtube channel, Linda is a German shepherd, raised without a cage, and with pet door so she can go out 24/7, we have more than 350 videos and more than 6 million views, I hope you enjoy all her videos … don’t forget to subscribe…Thanks for watching.”

It just goes to show that dogs are really the best animals in the world.

If you have ever heard the old idiom “dogs are a man’s best friend,” videos like this just reinforce why. Like any relationship, it takes time and effort to learn what the other person (or dog) needs! When you finally discover what that is, you can help to show them affection in that way.

“Knowing your dog’s love language can help you in many ways. Not only will it make you feel closer to your pup, but it will teach you more about the way your dog behaves. For example, a dog who prefers acts of service may like competing in Obedience, while a dog who enjoys giving/receiving gifts may find Scent Work rewarding.” – AKC
