There are times when we witness the most unusual things in our backyard. It could be things that happen to be out of place or animals who decided to pay a quick visit to the area. Whatever it is, it is surely something that would surprise or pique anybody’s interest. In this woman’s case, there were fox friends who somehow made the yard their usual hangout.
It started one night when the woman’s dog started hearing sounds outside.
Trisha, an American woman, was living in a house somewhere in the U.K. along with her trusty sidekick dog, Mazzy. They were living a very normal life, but then a wonderful thing happened in their backyard. Trisha first noticed it when Mazzy started waking them up in the middle of the night. She first thought that the dog was scared but she really had no idea of what caused Mazzy to be like that.
Therefore, as she really wanted to know what was happening, she decided to take a peek outside her window, and voila! She saw a bushy-tailed red fox just right in her backyard, walking around as she’s already familiar with the place.
“I just thought, ‘This is amazing, seeing something magical,’” Trisha told The Dodo.
Trisha and Mazzy then started observing their yard every night.
Awed by the astonishing sight, Trisha decides to come back to her window every night with Mazzy by her side, especially because this fox only comes out at night. They got used to seeing the fox just hanging out and Trisha gave it a nickname, The Foxy Lady.
They could not get a good photo or video if they stay behind the glass windows, so Trisha set up a video camera outside to record the fox’s activity. There may be some nights when The Foxy Lady ends up not visiting their yard, although there are also times that the night becomes more interesting.
She reviewed the video footage and witnessed something amazing.
Trisha went out to check the recorded footage on the camera. She thought only The Foxy Lady would be there, but to her pleasant surprise, she saw another fox, who she later dubbed as Shorttail. What’s more amazing than that was the fact that the foxes were happily playing in their yard.
It’s no wonder why Mazzy would suddenly wake up during his nighttime naps. You could see how the foxes roughhouse each other, running and hopping through the green patches of grass. Since then, Mazzy and Trisha made it a habit to stay a little late to watch the playful foxes do their usual activities in their yard.
The foxes just live in a den near Trisha and Mazzy’s home.
There are a lot of houses in the neighborhood, but Trisha’s yard seemed to be the foxes’ favorite place to leisurely hangout. Sometimes, to make their playtime more fun, they would borrow Mazzy’s toys that were left outside.
These foxes seem to have both the qualities of both cats and dogs, seeing how they interact with everything in the background.
Trisha shared the little footage she captured on the internet and the people were enjoying it as much as they do.
Trisha uploaded the short clips of Shorttail and The Fox Lady on her TikTok account, and her first upload reached over 4.1 million views on the platform. Since then, plenty of people have decided to stick around and wait for more of their adventures. Hopefully, we’ll see more of them in the future.
