A dog in Connecticut ended up in a life-threatening situation as he got himself trapped beneath a porch. The owners panicked and called Rescue 17 to lend them a hand shortly after 11 pm. Thankfully, the rescue crew was able to swiftly reach the venue on Botsford Road.

The team assessed the situation before they could take action.

They first clarified how the dog got himself stuck, and then carefully checked the perimeter of the house. Before the investigation, it was reported that none of the owners knew how their pooch got stuck in such a strange location. To compensate for the lack of information, the team took out their thermal imaging camera.

The team managed to spot the poor pup’s location.

The pup showed up as a bright white shade on their thermal scanner.

“We lowered the camera into the first hole, and confirmed the little pup was stuck in back,” explained Ethan Iott, who was on the scene.

When they finally got its exact location, it was time for them to execute the rescue. The poor dog was stuck for hours, and they needed to act fast to save the scared pup.

They grabbed their equipment to dig the ground where the dog was spotted.

It did not take long for the rescuers to equip themselves with the necessary tools for the operation. They flashed their lights to illuminate the darkness and began digging in the ground. The burrowing took them 30 minutes until finally, they were able to scoop the pup. It was firefighter Riley Cronin who emerged from the hole, carrying the pooch safe and sound.

The long hours of panic and distress finally ended as the dog reunited with its owners.
