Some people find killing animals, even if it’s a mother and her children, to be a good time.

They call it hunting and find that killing other creatures that we share the earth with is a sport.

Some people will murder these animals just to get their kicks even if it’s against the law.

Not only are Andrew Renner, 41, and his 18-year-old son Owen Renner accused of killing a mother and her newborn twin cubs but they are also accused of trying to cover the slaughter up.

According to TIME, the men didn’t know that the black bears were part of an observation program.

The slaughters were caught on a motion-activated camera located outside the bear den in Esther Island in Prince William Sound. According to Huffington Post, police said the younger Renner was seen on video shooting the mother sow black bear.

Court documents show allege that the “cubs begin shrieking in the den after the initial shots are fired.”

The elder Renner who was standing a few feet away then allegedly takes aim through his rifle scope and shoots the crying newborn cubs.

It seems as if they knew they were doing something wrong.

“Andrew Renner is captured on video saying ‘It doesn’t matter. Bear down,’ ” Assistant District Attorney Aaron Peterson wrote in court documents the Anchorage Daily News reports.

The father and son then drag the dead mother bear out of her den.

That’s when they reportedly realize that it has a Fish and Game collar.

This doesn’t seem to deter the men.

“Undeterred, Andrew Renner states, ‘I’m gonna get rid of these guys’ while tossing the cubs’ limp carcasses onto the snow outside the den,’” the documents say.

He goes outside to dump the bodies of the cubs. When he returns, they then discussed how they got the collar off and decide that they are “gonna skin it that way.”

“They’ll never be able to link it to us,” Owen explains.

They then butcher the sow and place her into game bags before skiing away. Additional video shows them returning two days later.

“I gotta go in the den and make sure there aren’t any little parts,” one of them says about the cub bodies.

They also pick up shell casings before they head off with the bodies of the cubs in bags.

Andrew Renner is reported to have taken the black bear sow to a state wildlife office and claimed that he killed it near Granite Bay in Prince Williams Sound. He denied knowledge of seeing any cubs.

He is accused of falsifying documents saying he shot the bear when the video shows his son doing it. He was also cited for not describing the kill as an “illegal take” and failing to disclose the number of bears that were taken.

Investigators seized his boat, vehicle and hunting rifles.

TIME states that “Under state law, it’s illegal to kill black bear cubs or sows with cubs in most of Alaska, including where the shooting occurred” however the Anchorage Daily News state that “there is a legal, registration permit black bear hunt for the area from September into June.”

They were both charged with a series of felony and misdemeanor charges for the poaching incident which occurred in April.
