In the world of cats, there are sure some unique individuals! From fluffy to hairless, there are cats of every shape and size. With so many differences, there is undoubtedly a cat for every person out there! One cat in particular, however, may just take the cake for the most unique cat in the world.

Jasper the cat is a hairless Sphynx with one crazy story.

At first look, Jasper appears as a normal, hairless Sphynx (which isn’t too normal, to begin with). Jasper, however, has no eyes! Check out these crazy photos.

1. Look at the wrinkles!

Mama says not being able to see just means I’m a really good listener. So go on, I’m listening! ————————————————————————Shop link in the bio! For those who don’t know Jazzy’s story, he was adopted at 2 years old seemingly healthy. After a couple of years he was diagnosed with FHV (feline herpes virus), but at the time all that meant was he was a sniffly boy. Then in November 2013 he got a corneal ulcer in his right eye. It was so bad that removal was the only option. He went on being a happy, healthy, now one eyed kitty. Until September 2018 when he ended up with a corneal ulcer in his remaining eye. Again so bad that removal was the only option. As scary as the news was that Jasper would now be totally blind, he adapted super well. Finally in April 2019 he had a mild stroke. He’s a very happy kitty, who is otherwise extremely healthy. He’s 11 years old, but the vet says there’s no reason to think he won’t live another 10 years. #jazzypurr #blindcat #sphynx #sphynxcat #nakedkitty #sphynxlair #catsofinstagram #catstagram #instacat #cat #kitty #sphynxofinstagram #sphynxstagram #thedailynude #sphynxoftheday #hairlesscat #catsdaily #oddkitty #thedodo

Jasper was initially born with two functioning eyes. The story behind it is quite sad! When he was two years old, he was adopted as a normal and healthy kitty. Soon after, however, Jasper got an ulcer in his right eye.

2. 2,1,0

The first time that Jasper had to go in for surgery. He ended up having one of his eyes removed due to an ulcer. Thankfully, the surgery went well, and Jasper was still alive and healthy (just with one less eye). With one less eye, he wouldn’t be hunting all that much anymore!

3. It happened again…

Unfortunately, another ulcer was found in Jasper’s other eye. Going in for a second time, Jasper came out completely blind with no eyes. Even after the second surgery where his second eye was removed, Jasper never lost his joy!

4. Cute as can be

Videos like this one show us that even a cat with no eyes can still be as cute as a button! With so many wrinkles and no eyes, Jasper looks like no animal you have ever seen before! That “unique” look has actually put Jasper in a spotlight that the family never expected.

5. One famous cat!

Daddy decided to take me outside today. I can’t stay out too long or I’ll get sunburned but there’s lots of sounds and smells out here! And the sun is nice and warm. ————————————————————————For those who don’t know Jazzy’s story, he was adopted at 2 years old seemingly healthy. Being over 12 years old now, Jasper has seen (no pun intended) all life has to offer. He gets to live his life as an old man, relaxing and sleeping! With his wrinkles, he even looks the part of a senile old man. All he needs is a rocking chair and a porch.

7. Arrrrgh

The best part of Jasper’s situation is that his parents take it lightly. They love to dress him up and show him off! The resulting pictures are hilarious and can bring a smile to anyone’s face. I mean, is this self-aware or what.

8. Jazzy tattoo

Nicknamed “Jazzy,” Jasper’s parents love their cat dearly. To celebrate their tenth adoption anniversary, his mom decided that she was going to get a tattoo to celebrate. With such a history of friendship, a tattoo seems the perfect way to show it off!

9. Throwback pic

It was a terrifying experience trying to figure out what was going on, why he woke me up spinning in circles, but the diagnoses was a relief. The cause is unknown, which is unfortunately common, but it means it wasn’t caused by any of the awful things that we know can cause one. Since then he’s recovered almost 100%, he walks a bit more cautiously and occasionally is unsure of where is is and will meow for help, but otherwise he’s perfect. If you want to see what Jasper looked like before his two surgeries, check this one out! You can see the similarity a bit, but honestly, I wouldn’t recognize this cat if it was next to “modern-day” Jasper.

10. Gotta stay warm

It seems that a cat without fur needs to find unique ways to keep warm! Jasper seems to have discovered that the best place to sit is right in his shirt. Who needs fur when you have someone else’s shirt to hide in?

Conclusion:

Jasper is definitely the most unique cat around! After seeing these photos, you might appreciate the uniqueness that can be found in animals all around the world, even if those differences give a “special” look.
