YouTube vlogger Trevor Costelloe and his friend were exploring an abandoned San Diego waterpark when their adventure took an unexpected turn.
Their intention was to check out the mysterious park that was believed to have shut down in the last decade or so.
They had no idea their trip would end up as a rescue mission.
“What we thought would be a fun little explore turned into an unforgettable moment that we still can’t believe happened,” Trevor said in his video.
The water park and its slides and pools were still in tact. The area had gotten a lot of rain in the past few weeks so some of the pools were filled with water.
When walking through the park they spotted a big white dog.
They weren’t sure what kind of dog it was and were a little scared not knowing whether or not the dogs were friendly.
They then spotted a second dog. Both of the dogs were lurking around the same spot. They had no idea that these dogs were checking on a third dog that was struggling to stay afloat in one of the pools.
At this point, the teens were pretty scared that they were going to be attacked by the dogs.
That’s when the white one came running over.
The boys were pretty frightened but their fear soon disappeared when the dog approached them gently and licked their hands. The second dog soon followed.
“This is sketchy,” said Trevor who sense that something was up.
The dogs seemed a little anxious but they weren’t sure why.
The dog seems to nudge at the boys then walk away as if they were trying to get the boys to follow them.
“What’s in the water over there?” Trevor said as he heard a noise.
The boys followed the dogs and saw that there was a third dog flailing around in the water.
“Oh, there’s a dog in there,” Trevor says panicked. “Bro, we gotta save the dog.”
Trevor then rushes over to the dog and tries to pull him out. He struggles at first and his friend offers to help but eventually, he pulls the dog to safety.
The dog immediately runs over to his friends who look super happy that he’s OK. They circle, sniff, and give him a few licks.
“Awwwwwwww, the babies,” Trevor’s friend said. “They’re like, “Are you OK?”
The teens were in total disbelief.
“Dude, what if we weren’t here?” said Trevor’s friend.
They surmised that the poor dog probably would have drowned. They were so happy that they just so happened to be exploring that day and were able to help the dog. Thanks to his dog pack friends, of course.
“I’m so happy actually,” said Trevor. “If we didn’t come here to film today, like come explore this place, that dog, honestly, would have drowned. It barely had any strength left. It was barely sticking above water.”
