When people abandon their dogs on the street, they sometimes get pregnant. That is why there are lots of dogs living on the street their whole lives. They never even got the chance to live at a warm home with a family to take care of them.

This sweet dog is one of them.

The sweet and energetic Willie was once a stray dog that Emily was trying to foster. However, since he had lived outside his whole life, he became ignorant of what it’s like inside the house. The dog was afraid and anxious, unsure if it was the right environment for him.

He wouldn’t even step on the house’s floors and instead sat right outside the door. He’s a sweet pooch and he responds happily if Emily calls him. However, when told to go inside, he would just stare at her while wagging his tail.

He was terrified of everything.

This dog can’t even get up or down the stairs, and he’s even afraid of just walking on the floor. In the house, he would always stay on the rugs rather on the floor. Whenever he needs to go to the potty, Emily would carry him all the way outside since he’s also scared of doors.

Suddenly living like this was a big shock to him, and he had a hard time coping with these big changes in his life. The great thing was the fact that Emily is working hard to help him.

However, Emily can’t do everything alone.

Even she had a hard time getting him to adjust to his new surroundings. No matter what she did, she can’t get Willie to act individually without being carried anywhere. This is why she needs someone to help him with this.

Luckily, her own dog is there to make things much easier for her.

Emily has her own pit bull terrier named Carlo. Carlo isn’t the type to get along well with energetic dogs, but given that they see each other all the time, it did not take too long until they became friends.

Emily figured that Carlo might just be able to help Willie.

“If Carlo likes Willie, I really think Carlo would help him,” Emily told the Dodo.

And guess what, she was right! Anywhere Carlo goes, his clingy brother is always there with him.

Willie became clingy to his foster brother. They’d be sitting or laying down on the same bed and would spend some time playing with each other. Over time, Willie was able to conquer his fear and was able to roam around the house on his own, thinking that his brother would be always there for him.

At the same time, their special bond changed Carlo in several ways.

“Carlo has never acted this way with one of our foster dogs,” she said. “It’s just been so heartwarming to see them help each other, and Carlo gains more confidence around dogs.”

After two months, Willie was finally adopted!

Willie had undergone positive changes with the help of Emily and Carlo. A few months have passed, and Emily could tell that Willie is more than ready for his new family.

Willie was adopted by a family that lives only 10 minutes away from them.

That said, Emily and Carlo could always choose to visit them since the family is not that far away from theirs. Although his brother Carlo won’t be always there with him, everyone is confident that he’ll be able to adjust to his new family and home.
