And, when they said guests, they meant the people they had invited to their wedding, friends and family that loved them and the couple wanted to have close to them when they tied the knot.

However, sometimes guests appear when you least expect it. Like in this case, where an unexpected guest made his appearance right before the bride left the car to walk toward her soon-to-be husband.

When Muzini arrived at the church in Vila Velha, Brazil, she immediately spotted the pup among the guests.

“I was surprised. I thought, ‘Look, there’s a dog inside the church,’” Muzini told The Dodo. “My heart melted.”

Soon, Muzini left the car and walked down the aisle, ready to exchange vows with her husband.

Although some may have expected the dog to leave in the meantime, he just stayed there, lying at the entrance of the church not letting anyone move him from that spot.

The people organizing the ceremony seem to have tried to gently move him from the entrance, but he wouldn’t leave. After some attempts, they realized that it was no use trying since the dog was determined to watch the whole thing.

As if the pup knew exactly what was going to happen, he stayed there until the ceremony was over and the newlyweds started moving towards the exit.

That’s when the dog approached them and greeted them as if he were a proper guest.

“When he greeted us at the end so, he asked: ‘Take me home. Take me,'” Muzini said.

The couple was so touched by the sweet stray dog’s behavior that they expressed their intention to adopt him, but the days after the wedding, when they went back looking for him, he was nowhere to be found.

Determined to find and keep him, Tamiris and Douglas asked an NGO volunteer who also happened to be their wedding organizer to help them.

Soon, the dog was spotted in a coffee shop around the city and the newlyweds rushed there to get him.

They took him to the vet where he was treated for a broken paw and given proper medication.

Today, healthy and in a new loving home, Caramelo, as the couple named the dog, enjoys the best of life with his new family.

His parents have also created an Instagram account on his behalf, where people can read his story and see how he’s doing now.

Caramelo’s account already has more than 10k followers, and people love his attitude and his determination.

In the video below, you can see Caramelo greeting the newlyweds as they leave the church.
