Watching cats go about their day is some of the best entertainment out there.
It doesn’t take much for cats to amuse themselves…when they feel like it of course. In a video posted to YouTube by Xiedubbel, two curious kitties discover something new in their home and the reaction is priceless.
The cats, Toby and Mr. Mika are two adorable Ragdoll cats with a curious disposition. In the video, a question is posed…”Can our cats see optical illusion?”
In a genius move, the owner places an optical illusion mat on the floor to see how the cats will react.
It sure does look like a hole in the floor but what will the cats think? Only one way to find out.
At first, they cautiously investigate the scene.
Both cats slowly venture toward the ‘hole’ intrigued by what they see. With tails wagging, each one sizes up the mat and each other deciding on their next move.
Maybe smelling it will give them a clue.
Ok, maybe not, but it isn’t a bad idea. They are getting closer to figuring out if this is dangerous or fun.
One of the cats makes a move and goes all in.
In a bold move, one cat sits right in the middle of the sinkhole. His facial expression seems to say, ‘what else do you have for me.’
Not to be outdone, the other kitty makes his move.
To prove his bravery, the second cat approaches but stays a little off-center away from the middle. You can never be too careful.
Toby and Mr. Mika decide the optical illusion mat is nothing but fun.
Both cats seem to have conquered their fear or hesitation of approaching the mat. They are now fully enjoying the fact that they know this isn’t real and they want everyone to know it. Clever kitties!
Now that they have claimed the mat, it’s time for a little fun.
Toby and Mr. Mika adorably play fight right on top of the sinkhole mat. Their little tails wagging the entire time. They are cute and brave!
The cats clearly love their new mat and they don’t seem very worried about falling in.
These are clever kitties but watching them figure out if the mat is a friend of foe is simply hilarious. Xiedubbel’s followers on YouTube agree. Commenters can’t get enough of Toby and Mr. Mika.
