“I should know enough about loss to realize that you never really stop missing someone-you just learn to live around the huge gaping hole of their absence.” – Alyson Noel

When you lose a part of your life, you don’t forget about it. It remains inside your heart, an empty spot that no one can replace.

A pet isn’t just a companion; they are a part of our family, our life.

Imagine spending every day with your pet, and then one day, you wake up all alone. No more puppy jumping on your bed or a cat kneading your cheeks with its paws.

You wake up, and you go to your pantry to give your pet breakfast, then you realize that you’re all alone.

Wherever you look, you are reminded of the memories that you and your pet shared.

How can anyone move on?

Reddit user abernha3 posted a photo of a gray cat holding his hands.

It just looks like a normal photo of a cat inside a car.

However, the story behind this photo made millions of people cry.

According to the post, the cat’s name was Andrew. At the time the photo was taken, Andrew was already 15 and half years old. That’s already 78 years old in human years. Andrew was old and was already very sickly.

Andrew loved everyone, and he was also a very calm cat. He loved purring, and he adored receiving massages. His owner said that Andrew loved purring. That is why when he noticed that his cat no longer purred, he knew it was time for his beloved friend to say goodbye.

They just felt it. It was time.

They grabbed everything they needed, and then they started the car. Gently, they held old Andrew as they drove to the vet clinic, and to their surprise, the calm old cat held their hands.

They were all silent.

It’s as if Andrew knew it was time as well. He didn’t show any pain. He was just calm and peaceful. Yet, he held his mom and dad’s hands – as if assuring them that it’s okay.

“Thanks all. Little Andrew was my junior. He was 15 and a half and loved everyone, but just got old and sick over the last year. He purred everyday of his life and when he lost that, I knew it was time. Always sad to lose a friend. Sorry for everybody else’s losses as well.”

It was just one photo, but it was enough to make everyone who saw it feel a lump on their throat.

Andrew was indeed an old wise cat. He was brave as well. Being calm and assuring his owners to be strong. Soon, the old cat bid everyone in his family farewell.
