When Andy Brumagen and Jessica Parken walked past a pet shop and saw an adoptable cat in the window, they couldn’t resist stopping in to say hello. The two cat lovers walked in and asked if they could hold the cat.

The pet store owner took the cat out of his condo and gave him to Parken. To Parken’s shock, the cat clung to her neck and refused to let go!

Parken hadn’t expected the cat to be so friendly—it was clear that he loved cuddling and affection. Parken also hadn’t expected to fall for the cat so quickly, but the second he hugged her, she fell in love with him. She nicknamed him ‘Clutch.’

Unfortunately, Parken and Brumagen couldn’t adopt the cat themselves.

The two had a 19-year-old cat and a three-year-old son at home, and Clutch’s profile said that he wasn’t good with other cats or children. Even though Parken and Brumagen loved Clutch, they had to take his needs into consideration, and they knew their home wasn’t the right place for him.

Since Brumagen and Parken couldn’t take Clutch home themselves, they decided to try and find the right forever home for him instead.

Brumagen posted a video of Parken holding the cat to a local Facebook group in Kenmore, Washington. The video showed Clutch hugging Parken and nuzzling her neck—it was a great example of sweet Clutch was.

“I’m just in Heaven right now. What a sweetheart,” Bracken said in the video as Clutch hugged her.

The video quickly went viral—people throughout Kenmore fell in love with Clutch.

When Bracken went back to the pet store, she was amazed to see a huge crowd of people filling out adoption applications for Clutch.

“So, they are FLOODED with people coming in and calling. A STACK of applicants are in!” Bracken wrote on Facebook.

With so many great applications to choose from, it didn’t take long for the pet store to find the right forever home for Clutch.

“We have gotten word that this guy has found a home. Thanks to us posting this video in a local group he had a stack of applicants and they narrowed it down to one, ” Brumagen wrote.
