It breaks our heart to hear stories of dog’s being abandoned, and this next one wouldn’t have had a happy ending if it wasn’t for three brothers and their friend who just so happened to be in the right place at the right time!

After finding an abandoned dog tied up with bungee cords, they didn’t hesitate to rescue her and keep her safe until help arrived.

Brothers Kenny, Kenneth, and Kevin Dancy and their friend Andrew Daniels from Detroit were helping an elderly neighbor with moving out all of her belongings when they first discovered the little pitbull. She had been carelessly tied to some bungee cords and left with no food, water, or blankets. She was incredibly starved and weak, so the boys wrapped her in a jacket and took her into safety.

The boys then continued to look after the dog, giving her food and water until the rescue team arrived.

They decided to name her Sparkle and became very attached to her! They were really committed to making sure that she was going to be okay.

Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue shared the sweet story of the little heroes’ rescue onto Facebook, saying:

‘Our heroes of the day! Young dog rescuers starting early. These sweet kids rescued this dog that has been left behind on bungee cords and kept her safe until we could come and get her.’

They then shared the sweetest pictures of the boys crowding around the pit bull as she gives them kisses. You can see from their faces just how much they love her and it’s the purest thing we’ve seen today.

“You could tell they really love this dog,” Theresa Sumpter, the organization’s founder, told WDIV. “They really were protective of the dog and wanted to make sure the dog was going to a good place.”

Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue made sure they kept the boys (and everyone else) up to date over on their Facebook page. The vet discovered that poor Sparkles had a type of skin disease called mange, but after treatment, she was soon in the clear! They said:

‘We are happy to announce that our sweet girl Sparkles is now vaccinated, spayed and HW negative! She is currently getting ready to be transferred to our friends at Pet Tales Rescue in Grand Rapids, MI to find a forever home of her very own! Thank you to those wonderful kids who helped this sweet girl!!!’

Amazingly, the same four boys went onto rescue two more dogs, which the rescue center also shared onto their page.

Thanks to the brothers and their friend, both dogs were immediately taken to the veterinary center to receive the treatment that they needed. There’s no stopping these little heroes!

We really think that a congratulations is in order for these four boys who are doing their bit to help the animals in need. We bet their families are so proud of them.
