Boy Caught Paying Visit To ‘Scary’ One-Eyed Cat
"Ace isn't a scary guy, and it just goes to show that appearances aren't everything. Seeing the footage of Ace and his buddy really proves that when given the chance of life and love and a family, animals with special needs and handicaps are worth it too."

Ace is a friendly cat who loves people more than anything in the world.

Even though Ace is as sweet as can be, he didn’t have the easiest start to life. He and his brother Ramsey were found abandoned in a dumpster when they were kittens. Soon after that, both Ace and Ramsey got eye infections, and they both lost an eye. While Ace could see perfectly out of his one remaining eye, Ramsey was partially blind.

Norma Maikovich and her family heard about the kittens, and they decided to adopt the bonded pair. Maikovich is a former US Army veterinary technician, so she knew she could provide the kittens with any medical help they needed.

As the kittens grew up, they began to develop unique personalities. Ace was happy-go-lucky and adventurous, but Ramsey was a bit shyer.

“Ramsey is partially blind, but he’s such a sweetheart. His brother Ace acts as his guide and has such a big personality, he’s very adventurous. He likes to sit on the front porch and watch the neighbors,” Norma wrote on Instagram.

Since Ace spends so much of his time outside, people in the neighborhood got to know him. But because he only has one eye, many of the neighborhood kids thought he was ‘scary.’

However, one little boy decided to take a chance on Ace. One day, the boy sat down on the Maikovichs’ driveway. Ace came over to the boy, and the pair had a great time playing together!

The boy started coming by almost every day to play with Ace. Norma didn’t realize that Ace had a daily visitor until she checked her security camera. Her heart melted as she watched the boy and Ace cuddling and playing.

Norma shared a clip of the boy and Ace, and it quickly went viral. Everyone loved watching the pair spend time together.

“It melted our hearts, not just seeing how much Ace loves this boy, but how familiar they were to each other!” Norma told The Dodo. “Sitting by the front door, as soon as Ace sees his friend, he rushes out to greet him. It’s awesome, this bond they share.”

Norma hopes the video will show people why special needs pet are so great, and why it’s such a good idea to take a chance on them.

“Ace isn’t a scary guy, and it just goes to show that appearances aren’t everything,” Norma said. “Seeing the footage of Ace and his buddy really proves that when given the chance of life and love and a family, animals with special needs and handicaps are worth it too.”

After the clip went viral, Norma started an Instagram page where she shares photos of Ace and Ramsey. She also shared another sweet video of Ace and his best buddy!

Maikovich also made sure to tell the boy that he’s welcome to visit Ace anytime.

“A friend of Ace’s is a friend of ours,” she said. “Once we realized that they were fast friends, it made us really happy.”
