We love our pets. They are always there to cheer us up and make us laugh. Most of the time, it’s the little things they do that we love the most.
Whether they are falling off furniture, tripping over rugs, or simply sleeping in weird positions, pets have a way of entertaining us — even when they don’t mean to do it. If there is one thing that pets love to do, it’s to look out the window.
Some pets will sit by the window and stare out it all day. They love to watch the world go by, and some are just waiting for their families to come home. Sometimes, though, these pets get a little curious and a little hungry. They want to know what the windows taste like.
These pets are all guilty of being window lickers. They don’t just lick them once; they have a bad habit of window licking. Their owners happened to capture photos of them in the act. They are still adorable, though.
1. What Do Windows Taste Like?
This dog looks like she should be prim and proper and way too cool to be licking a window. It looks like she just can’t help it. She has seen all the other dogs licking windows, and she wants to know what they taste like, too. Maybe one quick lick will be OK.
2. Dogs Love To Lick
This dog doesn’t even taste anything. He just loves to lick. He could sit and lick that window all day and look forward to doing it again the next day. For some reason, dogs just love to lick things. Maybe the cold glass feels good on his tongue.
3. You Look Tasty
This monkey is tired of everyone driving by and staring at him. If they want to gawk, he is going to give them something to look at. He wasn’t scared to hop right up on this window and lick it. Maybe he was trying to scare the people in the car, or maybe he thought he could taste their snacks from the outside.
4. Lick and Sniff
Licking the window isn’t enough for this dog. He wants to smell it, too. He found a way to put his tongue and nose on the window. He looks ridiculous, but he doesn’t care. He knows there is food inside, and he wants to get as close to eating it as possible.
5. Is He Stuck?
This otter has been licking the window in this corner so long that he has made it sticky. Now, when he presses his nose against the glass, he gets stuck. The people who visit the zoo don’t mind, though; they get a great view of him this way.
6. A Delicate Lick
Even this little rabbit can’t resist licking windows. She can see all those clovers outside in the yard, and she wants to taste them so badly. Her tiny little tongue is so cute. She seems to be a little bit more delicate with her window licking than some of the other animals in this slideshow.
7. Wild About Windows
This dog can’t help it that he has a crazy look on his face; he just loves to lick windows. He licks them on the outside, and he licks them on the inside. They don’t have a taste, but he doesn’t care. He just loves to lick them whenever and wherever he can. He’s addicted.
8. A Quick Taste
These pups have been put outside to use the bathroom and get some fresh air. One of them seems to be OK with it, but the other needs to get in a few quick licks on the window. Maybe if his owners see what they are missing, they will let him back in for some cute puppy kisses.
9. I Can Taste The Rain
This cat can’t believe that water just falls out of the sky and sticks to windows. She just keeps licking them and never gets her thirst quenched. If only she could go outside and feel the rain. Then again, she’s a cat, so she probably wouldn’t like that, either.
10. That’s a Big Tongue
Tigers are big cats, and that means they have big tongues. You have probably seen a housecat lick a window or even lick you, but can you imagine a big tongue like this on your arm? What is this tiger even trying to do? Why can’t he just swim with his friends and enjoy the water?
11. No Emotion
This dog licks windows so often that she no longer feels joy when doing it. She just does it out of habit. While the other pets seem to thoroughly like the taste or feel of the window they are licking, this dog shows no emotion. Maybe she is depressed?
12. Fat And Flat
Look at this big tongue. It’s not like your average cat tongue; it’s thicker and flatter. Maybe it’s just the view from the camera or the way it is eagerly licking the window. Perhaps if this cat had a bowl of water, it wouldn’t lick so many windows.
13. The Tiniest Tongue
Is there anything cuter than this little tongue? It’s so tiny and cute. Would anyone mind if they saw this little guy licking their window? He can’t help but be curious about what’s on the other side of this window. It’s a big world out there, and he wants to explore.
14. So Foxy
If you have never seen a fox licking a window, now you have. This fox is just like a cat or dog, and he is just as curious and thirsty. He could be the cutest fox ever. He does look slightly annoyed, though. Maybe he wishes he were running wild instead of stuck inside where he has to lick windows.
15. Thirsty Squirrel
Squirrels get thirsty, too. If they can’t find a bird bath or another body of water to drink from, they will do whatever they have to do to quench their thirst. If that means they have to lick water from a glass or window, then so be it. If you have ever seen a squirrel on a bird feeder, you know they have no shame.
16. He Has To Taste Everything
This little cutie was recently adopted and loves to explore his new home. If you can’t tell, he loves to eat. The best way to find out if he can eat something is to see how it tastes. He has to lick everything in the house. So far, he really seems to like this window.
17. Someone Put Sugar On The Windows
Here is another squirrel that just can’t get enough window licking. It’s almost like someone sprinkled sugar all over it. He is either trying to lick it until it disappears, and he can get outside, or he tastes something we can’t see on the window. Hopefully, it’s not the window cleaning solution.
18. He’s The Best Window Cleaner
This dog looks like he may have done this a time or two. It was fun for him at one time, and now, it’s just a job. His family fired the window cleaner, and he took over the job. He’s not particularly good at it, though. Look at all those streaks and marks he’s leaving behind.
19. Pug Kisses
Pugs have the cutest little flat faces, and they give the cutest little pug kisses. This one can’t help it that he loves to kiss the window. He will just keep licking it and licking it until someone stops him. He’s just a baby. His owner probably gets a lot of kisses and licks, too.
20. I Can Taste The Steaks From Out Here
This dog just knows his owners are getting ready to fire up the grill and start cooking some delicious steaks. He can smell them and he wants to taste them. If he can’t taste them, he will just lick the window and pretend like he’s in there eating with them. A dog can dream.
21. Little Otter
This little otter is so cute that you almost want to pick him up and take him home to lick the windows at your house. He lives in the zoo, and he just can’t help himself sometimes. When he sees the visitors snacking outside his enclosure, he does his best to get a taste.
22. There’s Water On The Window!
She can’t help herself. Every time she sees water on the window, she has to lick it. Sometimes, she gets lucky and the water is on the inside. Other times, she licks it over and over again and can’t taste anything because the water is on the outside of the window. She doesn’t know the difference.
23. He Can’t Help Himself
If you are trying to figure out what is on this window, so is the dog. He doesn’t know why he loves to lick windows so much, but once he starts, he just can’t stop. He has to lick every square inch of it until he feels satisfied. The poor guy needs a new hobby.
24. Can I Lick Your Head?
This giraffe may be stuck behind the glass at the zoo, but that doesn’t mean he can’t interact with the visitors. He wishes he could stick that tongue out and steal someone’s ice cream cone or, better yet, lick them on the head. The window will have to do for now.
25. These Windows Taste Like Carrots
This rabbit is either really hungry or really thirsty. He must see some carrots on the other side of the window. He looks like he might live at the pet shop. Maybe he is trying to show the customers how he gives kisses, so they will want to take him home.
26. Just Put The Food Up To The Window
This dog isn’t happy. He wants inside, so he can eat his dinner. He has been out all day, and it’s time to eat. He knows it’s right inside the door, but he just can’t get to it. Until someone lets him in to get it, he will just lick the window and stare inside. He looks a little scary.
27. Let Me Get This Spot Right Here
This gal has been licking windows for a while. She loves it; there is nothing better. She also happens to be a professional window cleaner and a perfectionist. She won’t stop until the window is sparkling clean. She doesn’t realize she is the one messing it up.
28. I Just Want To Taste The Outdoors
This puppy wants to go outside to play. He’s been grounded, and he’s not allowed to go outside. He knows there are tasty things out there just waiting for him to find them. Until his owners let him out, though, he will sit right there and lick the window.
29. Does This Make You Want To Take Me Home?
This pup is turning on the charm and hoping to get adopted. He knows that he needs to really put on a show if he wants someone to take him home. He is hoping that by licking the window, he will let potential owners know that he gives some great kisses. Who could resist some cute kisses like this?
30. This Window Tastes Great
Look how happy this dog is as he licks the window. It really makes you wonder what his owners have put all over it. Are they using a meat solution to wash their windows? Whatever they used, their dog is loving it. He doesn’t even want to come inside.
31. This Is Relatable
Isn’t this how we all feel when we see something delicious in the window? If you are dieting and can’t eat it, licking the window is the next best thing. This dog isn’t on a diet, but he still can’t eat these tasty goodies. He is doing a good job trying to taste them, though.
32. I Can Almost Taste The Ice Cream
This dog happens to love ice cream. So do his owners. In fact, they are sitting right inside the sliding glass doors and enjoying some ice cream right now. He knows they are in there, and he has begged to come in. They won’t share, so he just licks the window and thinks about how good it must taste.
33. I’ll Just Help Myself To A Drink
This lizard is proving that dogs and cats aren’t the only animals that like to lick windows. This guy is thirsty, and he can see the water beading up on the window. Maybe his owners should spray some water on his cage a little more often. He seems to enjoy it.
34. Finally, They Agreed To Share Something
These two dogs don’t normally like to share. They fight over toys and food and, sometimes, who gets the warm spot on the couch. They are both willing to share the window, though. In fact, when it comes to licking the window, they tend to get a little competitive.
35. He Wants To Smell It, Too
This dog isn’t just satisfied with licking the window. He wants to know what it smells like, too. He decided to press his entire snout against it. He hopes that he can taste and smell it at the same time. Maybe he is just trying to get a little sniff of the outside world?
