There exists an alternate dimension of “giant things” that is apparently missing one of their large snakes!

Lucky for us, it landed in Florida where larger-than-life monsters slithering through the grass is no big deal.

However, if you have a fear of snakes this story is going to get ugly real fast.

When Aaron Brown caught sight of an unusually large snake as he was driving through his family’s property in Zolfo Springs, he actually had to do a double take.

It was a Burmese python, an invasive species more commonly found further south in the Everglades.

In an interview with local news outlet FOX 13 News, Aaron recalled trying to get his mom to go wrangle with the behemoth, but she wasn’t having any of it.

“I drove past it and said, ‘That’s a big snake.’ I had my mother with me and she said, ‘Well, get out and get it.’ I said, ‘You get out and get it. If that joker catches me, you can’t help me.'”

On the other hand, Aaron’s cousin, William “Bobby” Wilkinson, was very eager to go out there and “catch that rascal.”

According to WFLA, snake wrangling with was actually a hot item on his bucket list!

“I said I ain’t never seen one this big and never thought in my life I would have the opportunity to mess with something this big. This was one of my bucket list things.”

William immediately rushed over to the property with his son, Hunter, where they cornered the snake in a culvert.

With no where else to escape, the poor creature put up a good fight to the very end.

“We were trying to pull him back and pull him back but he got back on us,” said William. “Once we got him pulled out, it was like, ‘My God! What a snake!'”

But just how big was it?

Most of the world uses the metric system. The US still clings to the imperial system. Reddit uses bananas for scale. And in some remote parts of Florida, young kids are the defacto unit of measure.

“We measured him and laid him down and the two kids down beside him to get a rough idea and ended up finding a tape measure,” said William.

It was over 16 feet, 4 inches long, and weighed a hefty 300 pounds. That’s a lot of luxury snakeskin cowboy boots!

Australia may have The Crocodile Hunter, but here in America we have Dusty Crum, the Python Wildman, whom you may have seen in “Guardians of the Glade” on the Discovery Channel.

“We are down in the Everglades trying to stop these pythons from migrating further north in all directions,” said Dusty.

When the Brown family called in the man’s expertise, he proceeded to have the snake skinned. Inside were 100 eggs.

“Hopefully this is a rogue snake and they haven’t migrated this far north. These boys stopped an invasion by eliminating a big breeding snake like that,” said Dusty.
